If you are scrolling with a mouse, change to using a trackpoint or cursor tablet (both integrated into my keyboard so I have a choice). Or use page up, page down for scrolling if you're not. Avoid doing the same movement all the time. Try making your other hand do it.
When first diagnosed I believed the neurologist and wore the wrist braces for months … making my wrists get weak. It was symptomatic relief only.
Years later I discovered the stretching & diet changes, which helped significantly more.
Also if your hands become numb while sleeping, there are alternatives to wearing the wrist braces. If you sleep on your back, try a bunched-up wash cloth in each hand to shape the hand into a curved position. If that works, try just a handful of bunched-up blanket in each hand. You can adapt the sleeping posture until you have less and less problems.
Hope my solutions work for you. Prob doesn't help everybody, but it sure helped me. Glad I didn't let them cut me.
