Hillary Clinton Issues Scathing Attack on Fox News
Hillary Clinton blasted Fox News in an interview with the Guardian published Friday, calling the network âsuperb propagandaâ and mocking its news coverage.
âYou watch Fox News, itâs always, âSomething terrible is about to happenâ, âSomething terrible did happenâ, âThese people are doing all these awful thingsâ. It is totally divorced from reality, but it is superb propaganda, she said. âI donât know the best way to puncture that. You have to hope that reality catches up with politics and entertainment at some point.â
She also called number one-rated news network a âwholly owned subsidiary of Trump and the Republican Party.â
Citing research on fascism by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Clinton said âvarious populist, rightwing, fascist, authoritarian movements and leaders destroy a common base of fact and evidence, creating an âalternative realityâ.â
âOne of the ways you do that is by consistently attacking the press,â said the former Democratic presidential candidate.
âNow [Trump] doesnât attack Fox News, because theyâre like a wholly owned subsidiary of Trump and the Republican party now. So he attacks the press and the broadcast media that raise questions about him, that donât give him fidelity and loyalty,â she said.

Howard Dean: Many Donât âConsider Trump a Legitimate Presidentâ
A partial transcript is as follows:
DAVID GURA: Let me ask you other messages being sent to the world, particularly when it comes to Saudi Arabia. Your reaction to the presidentâs statement?
HOWARD DEAN: I actually think there is a dichotomy between what people think of America and what people think of Trump. I think people are beginning to understand that Trump does not represent American values. He doesnât even really represent the values of most people who voted for him. I think most people donât actually consider Trump a legitimate president. He was obviously elected and all this business. But, he does not represent American values. George W. Bush did represent American values and our numbers went down as a result. Trump is so far off the screen about what people know about America that I donât actually think â heâs doing damage to our place in the world and our economic clout for sure â but I am not entirely sure that people donât divorce Donald Trump from the United States of America.
SUSAN DEL PERCIO: How do you expect someone without any core values to represent our countryâs values is how I would put it and I think when you look at the asylum issue, I think itâs also important to look at where he is preventing people from coming into this country are from and where they are from. He doesnât like people from that part of the world. He is only concerned about doing whatâs in his best interests and to help himself. That, I think, goes to the governorâs point about how weâre viewed around the world. He only cares about making a dollar, therefore itâs okay for Saudi Arabia, according to him, to take actions that they had because we have a deal with them based on financial need.
