Very well. The whole Word needs to fit. Can't leave out certain truths in gaining a full understanding. "The walk in the spirit" is what Paul exhorts. "The still small voice."
"Bring every THOUGHT into the captivity of Christ."
Now, when the serpent beguiled Eve, did Satan enter in? Possess her as you contend in your understanding of things, that is. Take up residence in her house?
There is no indication of that. It was her thoughts that were questioned. She knew what God had commanded. The serpent challenged her thoughts. "Hath God said…" Her thoughts unraveled as she added to, omitted from, and changed God's Word. And then believed the lie "Ye shall be as gods."
In this manner, Satan entered Eve, in her thoughts. He was in her house, in her thoughts. Instead of "resisting the devil so that he would flee", she acted on the influence of Satan on her thoughts.
Romans 1:28. "And even as they did not like to RETAIN God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate MIND, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness…."
I'll leave it to you to discern the parallel of this verse with Matt 12:43-45.
