Maybe, but he certainly has not demonstrated it. There's a general assumption (by those that study intelligence) that those on the extremely high end of the IQ scale lack the ability to go outside of their rigid understanding of logic. People simply aren't logical beings, we are emotional, and as a result, driven by irrationality. It's the same reason objectivism has never really taken hold. People like Ayn Rand simply could not understand the notion of unconditional love a parent has for a child. These are reasons the Langans of the world tend to stick to the sidelines.

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. Some posts he's made (and I've read some of them in the past) aren't really convincing to me. There was more I was posting previously but it didn't get copied (I posted right as we reached 751 and didn't copy it all). In general, CTMU may be brilliant (I offer no opinion), but that doesn't necessarily rise to the level of something that captures hearts and minds of the people. That's the sort of thing I'm referring to. Again, just a generalization, obviously not a hard rule. However, there's a reason he's still on the sidelines and nobody is talking about his ideas in the general population.

Another point I should have stated, maybe an even more important one, is that knowledge and intelligence aren't the same things. He definitely lacks knowledge of the types of things that would be necessary for high-level intelligence operations.

Curiously, his high IQ… all I could find is his own assessment. Has he taken any of the big tests (MEGA, etc.)? Paul Cooijmans says he is, but I don't know what source he was referring to, either.

>Are people talking about Q's ideas in the general population?

Apples and oranges, IMO. Either way, I guarantee more people know about Q than Langan. He's not the only one. Marilyn Vos Savant, Ronald Hoeflin (founder of MEGA), the list goes on. It's rare to see super high IQ doing anything truly great. As I noted previously, the average IQ for Nobel Laureates is apparently in the 150 range (I can't sauce that, read it somewhere a looong time ago). "Biding my time" seems like "afraid to stick my neck out" to me. Dunno… It would be nice if you're right. Kek!

Time will tell.
