Yeah well I viewed about seven hours of the "riots" yesterday on Champs-Élysées and Avenue de la Grande Armée (kudos to RT for an excellent YT livestream).

 

At worst it might have been called The Polite Rebellion. There was literally no violence or storefront vandalism by the protestors, who freely mingled - not fought - with the police. OK, they did start several bonfires in the streets using construction materials, and a police truck was overturned by someone very early on. But aside from that I'd say the police launched HUNDREDS of tear gas rounds and used their water cannon against protestors dozens of times. In other words the overwhelming majority of the violence and "rioting" was by the police against the protestors.
