Not sure pleading the 5th at this point will help them. Most of the public would consider it admittance of guilt, and that's the important part of the Congressional testimonies, the public's perception.

It would then be up to the DOJ to present evidence of their crimes.

An excuse and evidence are 2 different things. It depends on the evidence and where they are tried. They will not go before a military tribunal for financial fraud or a fake birth certificate but they will for treason or sedition.

It isn't just about the relationship between US/UK agencies. It would create a huge political problem (as if they don't have enough in the UK) as there are a lot of pissed off Brits who like what Trump brings to the table.

They don't want the public to know they (specific politicians and bureaucrats) worked to take Trump out. It could destroy their government.

I guess we'll see. It has never been addressed before where a treasonous president pardoned himself and all of his accomplices.

Consider the consequences if every president could destroy their opponents either before or after they were elected. It can't be allowed to happen.

>Presidents will constantly be looking over their shoulders worried if they'll get charged with a crime for simply executing the duties of their office

We're already at that point with Trump, right? All that said, I don't imagine that Trump/Q develope3d this plan without considering how it will be prosecuted.

No, I mean at this point, Trump is already looking over his shoulder. It was set up that way from the beginning. Whether or not he is guilty of anything, his ability to carry out the duties of office have been affected because of the acts of the previous administration which may be treasonous.

I agree about not being indicted while in office but I do not agree about being able to pardon oneself for treason.
