they can take the 5th. No they will not be jailed, it is their right. It shouldn't derail the process any more than them speaking. The congress and senate do not have prosecution powers anyway so the entire thing is a waste of time. If congress is investigating their actions then you can bet the DOJ is also and that is the investigation that matters. The rest is a dog and pony show
