A representative of Tymoshenko's Motherland party just presented a letter signed by Kuchma, Yushenka, and Kravchuck (former presidents of Ukraine) calling for the protection of the freedoms of Ukrainian citizens which would be curtailed by martial law.

Poroshenko is addressing the Rada now, promoting martial law, but says has weakened his proposal further to include only oblasts (regions) along the Black Sea and Azov Sea. Vote is now taking place.
