Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) blasted as "one of the worst" a judicial pick expected to get a vote in the Senate as soon as this week.
Schumer called Thomas Farr, who President Trump nominated to be a district judge, a "dye in the wool partisan with [a] particular hostility to voting rights."
"It's hard to believe President Trump nominated him. It's even harder to believe Senate Republicans are considering him again," Schumer said.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) teed up a vote on Farr and four other nominees before the chamber left for the week-long Thanksgiving break.

"That was it," he told the Times over the phone. “I made the decision that day. After I went to see the doctor, I sent a letter to the president right away.” …

Trump vowed last week to remain a “steadfast partner” of Saudi Arabia and said it was not clear whether Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman knew about the plan to kill Khashoggi last month at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul….
