They want lone wolf attacks to amplify up and try civil war. Even so, I wonder if that plan would go as well for them as they think.
People like myself may not know the full list of traitors, but we were born with a spirit for the apocalypse and rebirth to follow. A lot of things that are difficult for me to get or work with, now, become much easier when I can simply appropriate it for partisan military use and kill people who probably shouldn't hold the jobs they currently do. I do not hide my own tendency for tyranny - it is not how society should be run, but when all else is failing, I have no problems choosing a team and being a psychopath about things.
They think that such a world would be utter chaos without them, that it would fall to complete ruin. I don't think it would work like they want it to. They can try to flip the tables, but people like myself would thrive in such a scenario, and have absolutely no love for the cabal or their way of handling things.
Perhaps it is even appropriate to suggest that they hope to awaken the god of their blood line… But let's say they succeed - let's say they awaken the Lucifer they believe they are a blood component of….
What would that god, being fed the souls of the suffering at their hands, think of 'his children?'
Higher beings go to sleep for a reason. Waking them with the expectation they will be pleased with you may yield a result "which deviates from the expectation."
