If Kav is a wolf in sheep's clothes, any attacks that are done involving the SC would be neutered were Kav also caught up in them, solely because Trump brought him in. He would be able to say that no matter who, none are above the law. Any vetting attacks would then go right back to the FBI, keeping Trump clean.
