The only thing that makes sense in the scenario you described is that Corsi and Mueller are working together and the real targets are the angry democrats on Mueller's team. That is, Mueller took those Lawyers on to set them up.
Just a WAG, though. Like you I have no idea which end is which anymore and just have to wait and see what comes out in the wash.
