I don't know that the US wants to "dominate the globe", do they? My impression has been that a significant element of the global goal of this administration is to restore/establish SOME balance in economic viability based on reality vs. whateverthehell. Does this include attempting to restore autonomy to nations/regions? Maybe - it would certainly make sense.
