BREXIT SHOCK: May REJECTED Trump’s free trade offer months ago - ex-minister FURIOUS

DONALD Trump offered a free trade deal “on a plate” to Theresa May when he met her at Chequers, but the Prime Minister turned him down, an ex-minister has claimed.

Owen Paterson [Conservative MP, North Shropshire] says Mr Trump’s aides told him he made the offer the UK, but Mrs May said she “wasn’t ready”. But Mr Paterson, the former environment secretary, said: "When I visited the US in September I was told by people close to the administration that Trump had made an offer but Mrs May told him the UK wasn't ready.
