Reminds me of this Pentecostal couple who tried to convert me when I was going to US Naval Nuclear Power School in the 1970s. Told me all that book learnin' stuff people do was of the devil. When I told them what I was doing they backed off a bit, and warned me against getting too uppity and neglecting my spiritual walk.
Many years later, I found out the man had gone to prison for having sex with a 13 year old boy.
