Comey Fights Subpoena From House GOP; Asks Judge To Toss

Former FBI Director James Comey has challenged a subpoena from House Republicans demanding he appear for a closed-door testimony in federal court.

According to court records, Comey filed a motion to quash - following through on his vow to fight the order unless his testimony was in a public forum - where lawmakers would be significantly restricted as to the scope of questions they might ask.

"Happy Thanksgiving. Got a subpoena from House Republicans," Comey tweeted on Thanksgiving day. "I’m still happy to sit in the light and answer all questions. But I will resist a “closed door” thing because I’ve seen enough of their selective leaking and distortion. Let’s have a hearing and invite everyone to see."

Comey rejected an October request by the House Judiciary Committee to appear at a closed hearing to testify in the GOP probe into allegations of political bias at the FBI and DOJ, according to Politico.

"Mr. Comey respectfully declines your request for a private interview," said Comey's attorney, David Kelly, in a response to the request.

The Judiciary Committee, chaired by Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) didn't appreciate Comey's response.

"We have invited Mr. Comey to come in for a transcribed interview and we are prepared to issue a subpoena to compel his appearance," said a committee aide.

Swastikas, anti-Semitic slur spray-painted at Jewish Columbia University professor’s office

New York City Police launched a hate-crime investigation Thursday after swastikas and an anti-Semitic slur were spray-painted in red near the entrance to a Jewish Columbia University professor’s office.

What happened?

The vandalism was found around 1 p.m.Wednesday at Columbia University’s Teachers College in Manhattan, according to published reports.

The Columbia Daily Spectator identified the teacher as Elizabeth Midlarsky, who teaches psychology and education. Midlarsky has also written about the Holocaust.

“I was in shock,” Midlarsky told the student newspaper. “I stopped for a moment, because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

In addition to the swastikas, a racial slur was written on the walls.

Identification is required to enter all Teachers College academic buildings, the Columbia Daily Spectator reported. A different staff member entered the area around 11:47 a.m. Wednesday and did report seeing anything unusual.

“We are outraged and horrified by this act of aggression and use of this vile anti-Semitic symbol against a valued member of our community,” Teachers College President Thomas Bailey said in a statement.

He said police are working to “discover the perpetrator of this hateful act.”

Police also told the media they are still looking for suspects.

It’s not the first time the teacher was targeted.

Midlarsky’s office was vandalized in 2007 when a swastika was spray-painted on her door and anti-Semitic fliers were left in her mailbox, the Columbia Daily Spectator reported.

Police did not say if they believe the two crimes are related, according to reports.

What else is going on?

Several anti-Semitic acts have cropped up in recent weeks.

Last week, three swastikas were found over nine days at Cornell University’s campus in Ithaca, New York, the Cornell Daily Sun reported.

Less than two weeks ago, someone spray-painted a red swastika at Duke University in North Carolina on a mural that honored victims of the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre.

Federal prosecutors have filed hate crime charges against a Pennsylvania man who allegedly stormed a Pittsburgh synagogue in October and killed 11 people. If convicted of a hate crime, the suspect could face the death penalty.

Last month, researchers who study social media reported a spike in anti-Semitic posts on Instagram and Twitter. There were also complaints that not enough was being done to stop it.

According to the FBI, hate crimes have increased more than 17 percent in the U.S. in 2017, marking the third consecutive year the figures have gone up.

Michigan- 11th Arrest in Child Rape Ring Where Pedos Molested 4-Year-Old Kids

There's more disturbing news surrounding an alleged homosexual pedophile in Michigan, where a Battle Greek child molester of children as young as four-years-old is now in custody after authorities shut down a child rape ring.

For several months, law enforcement in Michigan has engaged in efforts to shut down the child pornographic and child rape rings.

On Wednesday, they bagged the latest suspect, 47-year-old Scott Sayer of Battle Creek.

Authorities say that Sayer is facing one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct after he is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl on October 23rd.

Police said Sayer was implicated as part of the investigation into another child pornographic ring that led to the arrest of 45-year-old Donald Johnston for the rape of a 4-year-old boy multiple times between January and October.

On Monday, Sayer was arrested and appeared before Calhoun County District Court, where his bond was set at $100,000 cash by District Judge Frank Line.

Sayer is now the eleventh alleged pedophile arrested as a result of police efforts to shut down the guild pornography network.

If convicted, Sayer could face up to life in prison for his role in the child rape ring, as reported by Battle Creek Enquirer.

Both Sayer and Johnston were close friends in the community, alongside now arrested and alleged pedophile substitute teacher Steven Bridges.

Police in Khan’s London Drop One-Third of Crimes After Single Phone Call

The Metropolitan Police Force which serves London is abandoning around one-third of all crime reports after a single phone call under the mayoralty of Sadiq Khan.

Criminal damage, theft, affray, so-called “low-level” assaults, and even burglaries can be dropped without any investigation after the victim’s initial phone call to the police, under a policy The Times describes as having been “secretly introduced” by the London force in 2017.

The Met assesses some 37 per cent of offences via telephone phone call, with the Telephone and Digital Investigation Unit (TDIU) telling a majority of victims their cases will not be investigated without clear CCTV or forensic leads — although the latter cannot really be discovered without a police investigation in the first place, in all but the most cut-and-dried cases.

The Times further notes that the public gave up on around 1.26 million calls to the non-emergency 101 number in London after “having to wait 15 minutes on average to get through” — an increase of 50 per cent on 2016.

The Met does keep a list of crimes which must be properly investigated, including homicide, sexual assault, firearms offences, domestic assault, and, of course, “hate crime.”

“Racist” gingerbread men banned from Swedish Christmas celebration

Recently several schools have cancelled or restricted their Lucia celebrations. And when they are questioned in media, they make up excuses and back-pedal.

The latest example is Lindöskolan in Kalmar, which decided that their Lucia celebration should not contain any gingerbread figures.

The reason behind the decision was, according to parents of students at the school that gingerbread costumes are perceived as racist.

“Children must be allowed to be children. I think this has derailed completely. On the one hand, you have the pride movement, which says that everyone should be able to decide for themselves. Why is it not the same with this? You don’t have to take it so seriously or make a big deal out of it”, says an upset parent.

“There is nothing racist with gingerbread, it’s just imagination and fiction. I get tired of our traditions being slowly removed”, she continues. The local newspaper contacted the school’s headmaster Karin Berggren, who initially didn’t want to comment on the banned costumes, but referred to the music teachers.

However, after massive criticism, the school changed its standpoint. As a result, gingerbread men are allowed in the Lucia celebration at the request of a student.

It is also argued by the school that it was not a formal ban, they simply chose to remove the gingerbread costumes a few years ago.

Israel denies its jet or any other 'airborne target' was downed during Syria raid

The Israeli military has described reports that one of its jets was brought down while carrying out airstrikes in Syria as “bogus,” amid reports that the country’s air defense systems engaged and downed several “hostile targets”.

Israeli Defense Forces have refused to comment on the country’s alleged role in the attack, with a spokesperson saying that they’re not commenting on reports in foreign media. Yet the IDF has denied a particular report that it had lost a warplane during the raid on Syria.

A Syrian security source earlier told RIA Novosti that an Israeli jet was among the targets downed by the air defense. “Our air defense have downed an Israeli jet and four rockets before they could reach their targets,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Syria TV reported that a missile strike against Syria was deflected, without specifying what the downed objects were. The incident reportedly occurred in the Kiswah area, located 13 kilometers (8 miles) south of Damascus.

Agnifilo accuses government with de facto witness tampering with DOS slaves and withholding crucial information from defense

Marc Agnifilo, the brilliant and high-priced attorney for Keith Raniere, is now accusing the government of behaving unethically. What he claims all but amounts to de facto witness tampering.

He writes in his affirmation to the court that the government is withholding information from the defense and is actually trying to get witnesses to change their stories.

Agnifilo writes the government has interviewed a number of DOS slaves as potential witnesses.

He writes, “…in some instances, after witnesses provided an account of their experience in DOS, the Government subsequently attempted (and sometimes succeeded) to have these witnesses change their accounts, in whole or in part, by confronting these witnesses with purported statements by a defendant or the Government’s opinions about the evidence.”

He writes that the government knows that much of what they are alleging is untrue.

He wrote, “In a novel effort to fabricate the element of coercion as part of the sex trafficking count, the Government artificially links collateral to a requirement of sex with Keith Raniere. However, we expect that the Government has by now spoken with numerous women who have stated to the investigators and prosecutors that collateral was wholly unrelated to sex or an expectation of having sex with

anyone, let alone Raniere…. The evidence is overwhelming that the collateral was a function of a woman’s membership in and commitment to DOS, and nothing more….

“We believe that the Government has been told by a number of people the Government considers ‘DOS slaves’ during proffer sessions with the AUSAs and the FBI agents assigned that no sex trafficking or other illegal conduct took place.

“These witnesses provided information which contradicts the factual allegations and theory of the prosecution. Defense counsel believes, moreover, that when confronted with these accounts of alleged ‘DOS slaves’ that no illegal conduct took place that the Government attempted to ‘convince’ these witnesses to the contrary.

“The defense is concerned with the propriety of this investigation in light of this information.”

After suggesting that the government is engaged in, in effect, witness tampering, he then accuses the governmental prosecutors of withholding information they know would tend to prove Raniere’s innocence.

They have not turned over the required Brady Material [any evidence that might exonerate Raniere], he claims.

Chairman Goodlatte Responds to Comey’s “Baseless Motion to Quash” Subpoena: ‘Comey Must Appear Before the Committees’

House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) responded to Comey’s lawsuit filed Thursday to block a subpoena to appear before Congress in a closed-door interview.

Fired FBI Director James Comey filed a lawsuit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to quash a subpoena by the House Judiciary Committee to testify in a closed session on December 3 as part of a joint investigation with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee into the handling of the Clinton email investigation.

Chairman Goodlatte said Thursday that Comey must appear before the Committees.

“The truth IS best served with transparency. What is Director Comey trying to hide from the American people with his baseless motion to quash?” Goodlatte said on Thursday evening.

“It appears Mr. Comey believes he deserves special treatment, as he is the only witness refusing to either appear voluntarily or comply with a subpoena. He needs to appear before the Committees, as all other witnesses have done. Let the facts come to light,” Goodlatte added.

Comey wants to avoid a closed-door deposition because he knows with a public testimony he will be able to avoid answering many questions citing classified privilege.

On Wednesday, Goodlatte offered to Comey that the Committees will publicly release the transcript of his testimony following the interview, echoing Trey Gowdy’s previous call to videotape Comey’s deposition.

Mr. Comey should agree to these terms and see that we have the same purpose, which is to find the truth and seek transparency. In order to do so, he must appear before the Committees and answer our questions.
