Okay, need to call out Hollywood hypocrisy and lies once again. On tonight’s episode of Murphy Brown, the main plot line revolves around Trump inciting a MAGA rally crowd to physically assault “Frank Fontana” a fictional character on the show. The supposed motivation for Trump’s suggestion that the reporter in question be “body slammed” was a snide comment the title character made in a fictional cable news show.
Yeah, this is fiction but my outrage goes to the slander of MAGA supporters and their omission of all things Antifa and Maxine Waters.
Anyone who has been to a MAGA rally knows the people there are the most law abiding and charitable folks on Earth. The worse thing that happens at a MAGA rally is some chanting (lock her up) and booing directed at left wing liars. To equate this constitutionally protected free speech to the actual threats and assaults committed by Antifa and other left wing thugs is false and irresponsible.
I’ve watched Murphy Brown since the days she went after Dan Quayle for not knowing the alternative spellings for potatoes. I didn’t like her left leaning rants but usually the show ended with a nugget of truth and human decency. That is not the Murphy Brown of 2018. The writers and producers of this show owe America an apology for their slanderous content and CBS owes us an apology for allowing this inaccurate tripe to actually make it to air. Fake news is the enemy of the people including fictional fake news.
