So, I was listening to NPR today to see what the other side is up to, what the messaging is, because I live in an echo chamber a lot of the time. To my complete surprise the show, Forum with Michael Krasny was entirely about China working to covertly influence our elections, politics, public opinion etc. etc. with a side dish of how much they are fucking us in trade and business and how shitty their human rights are and the shit they are pulling in the South China Sea. The guest, Orville Schell, co chaired a big report put out by the Hoover institute with a long list of swamp insiders as contributors.

The whole thing was pretty fucking damning and a complete 180 from the usual fawning, passive capitulation and dick sucking that's been a hallmark the establishments posture toward China for so long.

This is a big, big, sea-change.

My question is: what gives?
