Yeah - NR is not the best, if only because they self-aggrandize without merit.
This makes perfect sense and yes, people say stuff and later realize "oooh, that was not great". (I speak from personal experience and have gotten into the habit of keeping a lot of blank cards on hard to send to friends/family after saying really dumb shit.)
