Dutchsinse has been warning us for years that there's all sorts of fuckery with USGS earthquake reporting. Earthquakes don't get reported, magnitudes are downgrades to avoid panic, etc.
Do you know how much of the US economy runs on the Christmas shopping/travel season? They're not going to do anything that would disrupt holiday shopping. It's the same reason even the black hats don't do mass shootings on Black Friday, even though Black Friday mobs are an easy and symbolic target.
