Yes, technically we can. It has been done before. We can do better with something called the "Citizens Grand Jury" and make it official criminal prosecution, I think.

Anons should also be aware of something called "Jury Nullification" which is a related "Top Secret" right of American Citizens under the Constitution. Never a squeak about this. Crickets. Mums the word.

I believe you are correct. I heard that if you mention it, they will not let you on the jury.
I do not believe that they can call a mistrial if all jurors know about it, and decide not to convict because all believe the law is bad law.

Law Grad myself. I believe you are incorrect. See pic 1 and 2. ON the first page there is an active citizens grand jury that reached a verdict against Obama. There are others ongoing.
Yes, citizens would need an attorney to help them form a grand jury, and they would need to gather evidence. But it is very clear that the government does not have exclusive rights to form a grand jury for indictment. Citizens are allowed to do this, have done it, and the Supreme court has upheld their right to do it. We do not have to wait for government, especially if it is government we are prosecuting. See second page, Hale v Henkel and later US v WIlliams, where Scalia writes for the majority that the Grand Jury can be made for purposes of investigating whether a crime was comitted, or even if citizens want to be certain there was no crime. He also states that the right is in the Bill of Rights, but not the body of the Constitution, and is therefore a right not given to any of the three branches of government.
Since they are happening, and the Supreme court sees them as a right of citizens in the bill of rights, I would say citizens can absolutely form grand juries and investigate crimes of government officials.
