I just walked the 24 bus route through central London and noticed something interesting.

The 24 is currently being diverted so that it goes directly past the entrance to Trafalgar Square where Chinese New Year celebrations are due to start later tonight.

Coincidence? Probably but thought it was worth mentioning.

That area is definitely vulnerable to a vehicle attack. Zero police presence and no additional barriers as of earlier this afternoon.
