Well, I quit. I quit 28 years ago after 2 tries. What you NEVER want to think is that you can try just one.
I wanted to kill everyone within sight for a month afterwards. Literally kill them. They were breathing my air. They were in my line of sight and I wanted them dead,
It is amazing what a great tranquilizer cigs are.
Also, I craved them for years. I had dreams about them for over 10 years.
I had only smoked about 5 1/2 years and only a pack a day. I was hooked on them though.
Having said that, when I had a craving, and I had many of them. I told myself to wait 5 minutes and if I still wanted a cig, I would then allowed myself to have one. The cravings always went away within 5 minutes. It was the mental game I played with myself. Keep busy and with your hands, if possible.
Main piece of advice. Don't ever think you can just have that one cig. Don't think, because you fail, you will never have another chance at it. It is a learning experience as well. You find out how to do it.
Best wishes for you! They are terrible to get addicted to. It is the only thing I ever had a problem with.
