Sometimes when I don't get a notable and I think the material is good, I look at it again, trim the fat, reformat, and resubmit–but usually not right away. Sometimes I change the header, which I would here. Sounds a little lecture-y. If all of that comes to naught, I save the material. At some point, an anon will have a question that is on point, and I reply using some part of what I've written. People are usually delighted to get such a detailed response to their question.

(BTW, I submitted a response to this post and it didn't even get replies, much less a notable. Maybe I'll submit it again, WTF!)

Yes, I'm mostly focused on digging but sometimes the stuff is part of a large digg involving other anons who would like to see the latest stuff on the digg when they come home from work or whatever.

Or sometimes I think somebody's else's stuff is just so useful that I'd like to see it made more accessible via notables. There is nothing wrong with notables or IMO asking for a notable. All that can happen is they say "no." It's no big deal.

People have different opinions, but I'm ok with people asking for notables. It's hard sometimes being a digger, hard work, no need for false modesty if you think your stuff is worthwhile. Often I just repost. I once had something ignored tor two breads and posted it one last time (later) to an enthusiastic response. Different anons, bakers, etc.

It got pretty lively last before last when we caught a lead on the Chinese hotel, potentially linking it to both GM and Feinstein.
