It has to be comms disruption, not even full blackout. Modern society would not last a day without some sort of interconnectivity or communication. Add no power to that, and it's an extinction level event, even at just one day, let alone ten.

Anons here have been pissed that he did not pay for his crimes in jail or publicly, but if you think about it what are they going to do to a 94 year old man? They might get a year or two of jail time out of him, at which point an execution is basically a mercy.
No, I think they instead laid out how all of his evil and wicked plans were going to unfurl out in the open. 94 years, a life devoted to some 'greater' goal of control and world domination through any means necessary was completely nullified. Any legacy he could pass down his bloodline, evaporated in the final breath of his wasted life. And the best part: his death was going to contribute to the dismantling of the empire he devoted his life and soul to.
