>Honestly, it seems that China is a greater/more urgent existential threat than Russia right now. China wants to crush us. And so many of our business are dependent on cheap Chinese manufacturing. We need real IP/trade protection, Cyber security and tax incentives that make it cheaper to make here.

Seems like China would be more of a long term threat to Russia as well.

easier to grab land and resources from someone sharing your border, than separated by a massive ocean.

In case shit goes sideways-I figure most people here are in the know about this, but on the off chance there are folks that have no idea about prepping for disruptive events, here.

Have a network of friends and family who are on the same page and prepared (see above) and a plan for dealing with disruptions re: power/food/fuel where to meet up.

Know your neighbors. People not in the know will be worried, scare, etc. Be prepared to be a positive influence during the crisis.

Have a weapon. Rifle, pistol, ammo - but even an improvised weapon like an axe handle or wrist rocket and a bag of ball bearings is better than nothing if you're broke or in a shithole state that doesn't recognize the 2nd amendment.

Have food and water. Canned goods, dry goods. cheap, easy to obtain. wouldn't hurt to have a small pallet of bottled water. Camp stove, a fire ring even a propane bbq with a couple extra tanks if you have the means.

Hand crank radio for info, lighting and a pile of books & boardgames to pass the time.
