I was just pondering 'future proves past' and it may have another double meaning: Once the corruption is removed, the future should be radically different (likely MUCH better), which will prove that the past really was as bad as it appears.

The entire hardware/software industry is designed intentionally to be as difficult as possible to secure while convincing everyone it has some level of security and that perfect security is impossible.
