Mike Pence sparks QAnon theories after deleting tweet featuring badge

Vice President Mike Pence is fuelling QAnon conspiracists after he tweeted, and then deleted, a photograph of him standing next to a Florida sheriff deputy wearing a QAnon badge.

The photo showed Pence being greeted by members of the Broward Sheriff's Office SWAT team at Fort-Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Friday. One of the men pictured was wearing a red and black badge with a Q on it, which appears to be the same design as QAnon merchandise being sold online.

At least 107 arrests in Paris Yellow Vest rally – prime minister

The number of arrests at the Yellow Vest protests in the heart of the French capital has jumped to 107, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe confirmed.

Since early morning, massive demonstrations have been gripping Paris, resulting in fierce clashes between police and demonstrators. Officers deployed tear gas and water cannons against the rioters who answered with rocks and projectiles of various sorts.

Report: ‘Paid Provocateurs’ to Lead Caravan Migrants in Storming the Border on Saturday

Paid provocateurs’ are reported to be planning to lead caravan migrants in Tijuana in storming the El Chaparral border crossing Saturday morning in a replay of last Sunday’s violent attack by rioting migrants that prompted a tear gas response from border patrol agents.

A flyer is being distributed to migrants in the camp in Tijuana announcing the renewed effort to rush the border is timed for the inauguration Saturday of the newly elected President of Mexico, Manuel López Obrador.

The plans were reported by KUSI.com reporter John Soderman via social media and broadcast. Soderman said a federal officer told him about 600 migrants led by paid provocateurs, are going to participate in the border rush to provoke a response from border patrol like last Sunday. Spain: Pakistani migrant punches female doctor as being treated by her is ‘against his religion’

A doctor from Linares (Jaén) has received a brutal punch from a young illegal Pakistani because he resisted being treated by a woman. According to what he said on Wednesday before the judge, the reason is because “his religion forbids him.”

None of the 42 people arrested at San Diego border Sunday will face criminal charges: CBP

None of the 42 people who were arrested during a Sunday incident at the border between San Diego, Calif., and Tijuana will face criminal charges, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The Homeland Security agency said in a statement Thursday the Trump administration will not end up prosecuting anyone from that group for illegal entry or other crimes after hundreds of Central American migrants attempted to storm the border near the San Ysidro port of entry Sunday.

“We will not be able to provide a disposition for each member of the group arrested. However, since the 42 will not face criminal entry charges, they will face administrative removal. Depending on their country of citizenship and their case’s final disposition, the Border Patrol may turn those people over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement," the official said.

CBP would not share specifics on individual cases.

Billionaire Czech PM faces more legal trouble over use of EU funds

BRUSSELS/PRAGUE (Reuters) - Billionaire Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis faced renewed pressure over his business dealings on Saturday after an EU legal document said he has a conflict of interest due to links to agribusiness companies that received European funds.

The document, which was seen by Reuters, could stir up political turmoil in the Central European country, where massive protests took place on Nov. 23 after the minority government survived a no-confidence vote over an alleged fraud involving EU funds.

Babis, who before becoming premier in Dec. 2017 served as finance minister since 2014, denied any wrongdoing on Saturday following media reports about the confidential document, which is meant to inform decisions by the European Commission.

The legal opinion, dated Nov. 19, said “the situation of Mr Babis qualifies as a conflict of interest,” because he could “influence” decisions on the use of EU funds of which companies linked to him had benefited.

Convicted Murderer, MS-13 Gang Members Snuck Into U.S. With Migrant Caravan

On Saturday night after he crossed the U.S. border illegally, border patrol officials arrested a Honduran man who had been convicted of murder.

When officials apprehended 46-year-old Miguel Angel Ramirez near the San Ysidro port of entry in California, he admitted that he had served a 13-year sentence for robbery and murder. Officials confirmed his conviction and sentence with the Honduran Consulate in Los Angeles.

When Ramirez was released four months ago, he traveled from Honduras through Guatemala and Mexico with the current caravan of people aiming to enter the United States and claim asylum, a press release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection stated. Two other men, ages 22 and 38, were also arrested while attempting to illegally cross the border, and discovered to be Honduran nationals.

Iran is using teams of hit squads in Iraq to silence critics of Iranian attempts to meddle in Iraq’s new government, according to British security officials.

The hit squads are said to have been deployed on the orders of Qassem Suleimani, the commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ elite Quds Force, with the aim of intimidating Iraqi opponents of Iranian interference in Iraqi politics.

The hit squads were deployed after Iraqi general election in May, when Iranian attempts to establish a controlling influence over the new Iraqi government were stymied by the failure of Tehran-backed candidates to win sufficient votes.

During the election campaign Iran backed former Iraqi prime minister Nuri al-Maliki, whose close association with Tehran was a major factor in his removal from office.

The Iranians also hedged their bets by supporting another pro-Iran candidate, Hadi al-Amiri, although neither candidate mustered enough votes to form a government.
