Tijuana Mayor Calls for Arrest of Caravan Organizers – “It’s a Federal Crime”

Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum called for the arrest of the organizers of the Central American illegal migrant caravans.

Mayor Gastelum sat down with Griff Jenkins from FOX News to discuss the ongoing crisis on Friday.

Illegal migrant organizers forced women and children to the front of the protest last weekend and then started hurling rocks at US border agents.

Fox News correspondent Griff Jenkins sat down with Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum to discuss the caravan currently camping out in his city.

Gastelum told Fox News that the federal police should arrest the organizers of the caravan for “putting people at risk.”

“Let’s take care of them in a legal way,” Gastelum added.

It’s not surprising that Gastelum is growing impatient with the caravan. There is an estimated over 6,000 migrants settled in his city, and they are beginning to cause problems.

“We’ve have never, never, never, never had this problem,” Gastelum said. “Some of these people are coming in violently, disrespectfully, not as a good, law-abiding citizen. And that’s what’s hurt us.”

Gastelum said the migrants are also significantly hurting Tijuana economically, according to Fox News.

Sacks Of Cash, Martial Law, And All Smiles: IMF's "Constructive" Phone Call With Ukraine's President

Funny how it works… The same week Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko imposed martial law on much of the country, the International Monetary Fund assured him that key parameters of the 2019 budget were on track for a proposed $3.9 billion new aid program agreed to last month which is designed to help the country maintain financial stability and the trust of investors especially ahead of an uncertain election period next year.

IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde personally made the assurance in a phone call with Poroshenko on Wednesday — the same day the Ukrainian president signed the new martial law legislation into effect. According to Ukraine's popular independent news agency Unian:

It was particularly underlined that the introduction of the martial law does not influence the interaction with the IMF.

Poroshenko's press service said in a follow-up of a telephone conversation with Lagarde: "The Head of State informed Madame Lagarde about the adoption and the key parameters of the state budget of Ukraine for the year 2019. Madame Lagarde noted that, according to the IMF's preliminary estimates, the key indicators of the state budget of Ukraine are in line with the parameters agreed with the Fund."

Lagarde called the conversation “constructive” according to Reuters. An official statement released by Lagarde after the Wednesday phone call said:

The president informed me about the key parameters of the 2019 budget, which was recently approved by parliament and is currently under review by IMF staff. The preliminary assessment is satisfactory and the process is expected to be completed shortly.

The new agreement inked in October is to span 14 months and takes the place of a prior $17.5 billion aid program from 2015 that has sought to prop up Ukraine’s war-battered economy. It is subject to Ukraine approving a 2019 budget that meets IMF requirements, with ultimate approval expected by the IMF's executive board to come later in the same year.

Per Kiev-based Unian's commentary of the phone call: "Madame Lagarde also confirmed the IMF's readiness to continue the good cooperation with Ukraine and to support the country in the implementation of its reforms," according to the report.

CIA Intercept Reveals Saudi Crown Prince Sent 11 Messages To Head Of Khashoggi Hit Team Hours Before Murder

It has been nearly two months to the day since Jamal Khashoggi walked into the Saudi consulate in Istanbul hoping to retrieve papers needed to marry his Turkish fiance - only to be killed and butchered by a 15-man Saudi murder squad. In the intervening weeks, the Saudis have suffered remarkably little blowback (considering that the uproar elicited by Khashoggi's murder nearly triggered a global diplomatic crisis): To date, the US and Canada have levied sanctions against a 17 Saudis suspected of participating or orchestrating Khashoggi's murder, and a handful of countries who don't sell arms to Saudi Arabia have said they will stop selling arms to Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, both Canada and the US have balked at similar measures because they would inevitably kill jobs.

Clearly concerned about the flagging interest in holding Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman accountable for his suspected role in ordering the killing, the CIA has decided to pick up where Turkey left off.

Last week, somebody inside the agency leaked a preliminary report to the Washington Post detailing the agency's determination that MbS had ordered the killing. And on Saturday morning, the Wall Street Journal published the latest (illegal) intelligence agency leak when it reported on the contents of intercepts revealing that during the hours after and immediately before the killing, MbS had exchanged 11 messages with Saud al-Qahtani, a close aide to the prince who is believed to have supervised the murder squad.

Notably, the WSJ report followed a vote in the Senate earlier this week to open debate on a measure to withdraw US support for Saudi Arabia's proxy war in Yemen (the kingdom's brutal bombing campaigns have reportedly resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of innocents and created one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world). The Trump Administration has opposed the bill, arguing that it would damage its relationship with a crucial geopolitical ally while also killing jobs in the Military-Industrial Complex. While we wouldn't go as far as to suggest that the CIA is deliberately trying to undermine the administration, the timing of this leak is certainly curious.

Al-Qahtani has shouldered most of the consequences of Khashoggi's kingdom (he has been fired from the kingdom's intelligence service and targeted by US and Canadian sanctions) largely due to his reputation as MbS's enforcer. Al-Qahtani has attacked dissidents whom MbS views as a threat, as well as orchestrated their detention and torture (and not just inside the Riyadh Ritz Carlton).

Putin and Trump talked briefly at G20 summit - Kremlin

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin briefly spoke at the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, according to the Kremlin.

Kremlin aide, Yuri Ushakov, said on Saturday that the two leaders had a brief meeting on the sidelines of the summit. Ushakov also said that Putin met with US National Security Advisor John Bolton at the gathering, and that the US and Russia are ready to continue contact with one another.

However, he said he was unaware of when Trump and Putin might next meet.

The statement comes after Trump canceled a meeting with Putin at the summit over a flare-up between Russia and Ukraine in the Kerch Strait, which led to Russia detaining Ukrainian navy ships and those on board.

“Based on the fact that the ships and sailors have not been returned to Ukraine from Russia, I have decided it would be best for all parties concerned to cancel my previously scheduled meeting…” Trump wrote in a tweet on Thursday.

The stand-off in the Kerch Strait began when Ukrainian navy ships were attempting to sail between two ports via the narrow waterway, which runs between Crimea and mainland Russia. Kiev claims it notified Moscow of its movements, Russia denies being given any warning and says it repeatedly asked Kiev to push the ships back throughout the course of many hours.

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has said that officers from the Ukrainian security service (SBU) were embedded within the ships to coordinate an incursion, calling the entire debacle a "provocation" by Kiev.

The FSB also released footage of three men identified as Ukrainian service members who had been on the ships. In the video, the men are speaking on camera in detention, saying their crews intentionally violated Russia's maritime borders and ignored orders to stop.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the incident was staged in an attempt to settle internal problems in Ukraine. "…It was a premeditated provocation with an eye to a scandal, with a view to achieving geopolitical goals and solving internal problems facing the Kiev regime," he said, as quoted by TASS.

Mike Pence sparks QAnon theories after deleting tweet featuring badge

Vice President Mike Pence is fuelling QAnon conspiracists after he tweeted, and then deleted, a photograph of him standing next to a Florida sheriff deputy wearing a QAnon badge.

The photo showed Pence being greeted by members of the Broward Sheriff's Office SWAT team at Fort-Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Friday. One of the men pictured was wearing a red and black badge with a Q on it, which appears to be the same design as QAnon merchandise being sold online.

The apparently Q-loving officer has been identified as Sergeant Matt Patten of the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

QAnon is an elaborate conspiracy born on 4Chan last October after an anonymous poster claiming to be a high level US government official called ‘Q’ began posting cryptic messages. It claims President Donald Trump is secretly trying to bring down a child sex trafficking ring and the Mueller investigation is just a cover. The theory has since evolved and spawned numerous alternative narratives.

The QAnon badge photo was shared on the vice president’s official account, meaning it’s unlikely that Pence posted it himself.

An official from the vice president’s office told Buzzfeed News the image was deleted after staff were made aware of the QAnon badge, so as to avoid drawing attention to the conspiracy theory.

The account later shared a new version of the tweet without the man wearing the badge.

“The patch is not authorized by BSO,” Broward County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson told the Miami New Times. “This matter will be addressed immediately.”

“When I was elected, we realized there was a law in place that would prevent me from wearing a hijab in Congress. I was given an opportunity to lead efforts to change the law. We have the support of many people, they are happy about it.”

“I hope that Muslim women elected after me will find it easier. I hope it will also help others whose faith requires them to cover their heads. I hope this will also help our Muslim schoolgirls who feel challenged or harassed when they wear a headscarf. When they see me, they will be able to say with confidence: Don’t talk about my headscarf because there is a Muslim woman sitting in Congress wearing one.”

Democratic House leader and expected next speaker, Ms Nancy Pelosi, agrees with Ms Omar’s idea and has thus formally proposed to ditch this 181-year-old ban on headwear in order to “ensure religious expression.” As Ms Pelosi explained, “After voters elected the most diverse Congress in history, clarifying the antiquated rule banning headwear will further show the remarkable progress we have made as a nation.”

On Friday, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke woke up on the wrong side of the Twitter feed and decided to accuse one of his critics in Congress of being a taxpayer-swindling drunkard.

The argument began when Congressman Raúl Grijalva of Arizona penned a USA Today editorial in which he called for Zinke to resign, citing a string of scandals and promising to further investigate the interior secretary if he is named chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee. Currently, he is the ranking member of the committee and will most likely be tapped to lead when the Democrats take over the House.

Grijalva concluded his piece by writing, “federal agencies cannot function without credible leadership, and he offers none. He needs to resign.”

In response, Zinke wrote, “It’s hard for him to think straight from the bottom of a bottle” and called for Grijalva to resign and “pay back the taxpayer hush money.”

Zinke’s attack stems from a $48,000 payment that Grijalva made to a woman in 2015 after she accused him of being drunk and “creating a hostile work environment,” first reported by the Washington Times.

Salvini’s Italy to Promote Display of Crucifix, Nativity Scene in Classrooms — ‘Part of Our Heritage, Identity’

The crucifix and nativity cribs are symbols of Italian history, tradition, and faith, so it “is right that they are displayed in the classroom”, the Education Ministry has stressed, after it emerged that some schools were blocking Christmas displays “out of respect for other cultures”.

“For me, the crucifix is a symbol of our history, our culture, our traditions,” education minister Marco Bussetti said, telling a meeting of 180 teachers and school leaders from across the country he believed the same to be true for Christmas trees and nativity displays at this time of year.

Speaking at the Federation of Catholic Schools’ annual congress in Rome on Thursday, the minister — an independent who has taught in schools and universities during his long career in education — said he could not understand why some headteachers and school administrators feel the display of Christian cultural markers in classrooms could be problematic.

Bussetti’s address came against a backdrop of what Italian media described as “open war” over the issue of nativity scenes in the classroom, as recent weeks saw local administrators forbidding schools from creating Christmas displays in parts of the country.

After outcry from parents over the blocking of crib scenes by some municipalities of Venice, authorities claimed that a lack of funding was responsible for the decision. This explanation was blasted by the populist Lega party, however, which pointed out the region had allocated 50,000 euros of public funding for nativity displays at schools.

Controversy recently erupted when a school in Terni canceled its traditional nativity recitation “as a sign of respect” for pupils from other cultures, according to the headteacher, whose move was blasted as “idiocy” by Interior Minister Matteo Salvini.

“It is not just about religion, but about history, roots, culture,” he commented on the story in a Facebook post, adding: “I will not give up — Long live our traditions, and may they spread!”

The situation at the school in Terni was first brought to the country’s attention by local Lega representative Valeria Alessandrini, who stated: “Only by respecting [our own traditions] … can we make others understand everyone is free to practice their own faiths but that it is also required they respect the history and culture of the country in which they live.

“I hope that children and young people at the school [which cancelled its nativity event] will be allowed to share with their peers and their parents the most beautiful, intense and meaningful moments of Christmas.”

UK: Petition to Reject UN Migration Compact Breaks 40,000, Government Yet to Respond

An official petition urging the British government to reject the United Nations’ Global Compact for Migration is close to 45,000 signatures, but Prime Minister Theresa May has yet to issue a response.

The compact is reported to have been shaped in large part by the pro-mass migration government of Germany’s Angela Merkel — who launched an “unusually passionate” defence of the document in November — and has proved highly controversial, with countries led by national populist governments pulling out one after another as its shape has become clear.

Leading the charge was the Donald Trump administration in the United States in late 2017, with the American ambassador to the United Nations declaring: “We will decide how best to control our borders and who will be allowed to enter our country… The global approach in the [compact] is simply not compatible with U.S. sovereignty.”

The U.S. has been followed out by an increasing number of patriotic governments in Central and South-Eastern Europe in recent weeks — much to the chagrin of the European Union, whose unelected High Representative has championed the compact — and by the populist coalition in Italy, comprised of Matteo Salvini’s League (La Lega) and Luigi Di Maio’s Five Star Movement (M5S) — although the Mediterranean country’s parliament may still push it through.

In the United Kingdom, however, the “Conservative” Party government’s decision to sign up to the UN Compact — despite a long-standing but spectacularly and possibly deliberately missed target to reduce immigration “from the hundreds of thousands to the tens of thousands” — has attracted little mainstream discussion, perhaps due to the Brexit debate’s near-total dominance of the political space.

The grassroots petition to the British government and parliament to reject the compact reads simply: “The UK should not agree the UN’s Global Compact for Migration. The UN’s Intergovernmental Conference will be held in Marrakech, Morocco on 10 and 11 December 2018. Like Hungary, the UK should not sign.”

The anti-mass migration, pro-sovereignty Hungarian government, led by the recently Chuck Norris approved Viktor Orbán, believes the UN Compact is an attempt to “legalise illegal immigration” worldwide, and that references to expanding the definition of “hate speech” to include certain language around migration are an attempt to close down debate on the issue.

The compact’s defenders claim it is not “legally binding”, but the Hungarian find this dubious “in view of the fact that the document contains the word ‘obligation’ on eighty occasions”, and at least one law professor has conceded that it may create a legal “framework” which international lawyers and judges will use to interpret the law.

The British petition against the compact should have received a Government response after breaking the 10,000 mark, but has now been waiting for one seven days.

If it reaches 100,000 it the Backbench Business Committee in the House of Commons will have to consider if for a full parliamentary debate.

Whoever signs the UN Migration Pact presents a serious risk to his own citizens – Hungarian PM

The United Nations Global Migration Compact is a flawed document, and whoever signs it presents a serious risk to their own citizens, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in Prague on Friday.

At a joint press conference following a meeting with his Czech counterpart, Andrej Babis, Orban said the document set down principles that would not reduce illegal migration but stimulate it.

Every substantive legal case in the future will make use of the document as a point of reference, he warned. He said mass migration was a serious issue and decision-makers should not ignore the opinion of the people.

Yet in Europe today, he added, people are not allowed to express their opinions, or leaders fail to take them into account.

“We in central Europe, however, want to remain democrats,” he said. “Migration is testing the democratic nature of political systems,” the prime minister added.

Concerning Hungarian-Czech ties, Orban said that bilateral relations “entered a new dimension” in recent years, and spoke highly of “unprecedented figures” in economic ties as well as good cooperation in defence and in other areas.

He said that the turnover of bilateral trade and investments had increased and added that the two countries mutually supported investments.

Hungarian pharmaceuticals were “doing well” in the Czech Republic, while Czech companies were active in Hungarian agriculture and telecommunications, the prime minister added.

Bangladeshi Alleged Human Trafficker Captured in Mexican Border State

Mexican and U.S. authorities arrested a human trafficker from Bangladesh who allegedly operated a smuggling network out of Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The Bangladeshi national is suspected of orchestrating the smuggling of more than 700 women from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East into Texas.

Members of Nuevo Leon’s Fuerza Civil and Mexico’s National Immigration Institute carried out a high-risk raid at a motel in Monterrey. They arrested 30-year-old Moktar Hossain, a Bangladeshi national, during the raid. Breitbart News obtained video of the moment when Fuerza Civil agents arrested Hossain who was initially deemed to be armed and dangerous. Mexican authorities revealed that the suspect has extensive martial arts training but at the moment of the arrest he was not armed and did not resist arrest.

The raid resulted from an intelligence operation by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations. Moments after the arrest, Mexican authorities determined that he was illegally in the country and had him removed by plane to Houston where he is wanted on human smuggling charges.

“Homeland Security Investigations remains steadfast in vigorously pursuing members of transnational criminal networks that exploit and endanger the people they smuggle into the United States,” said HSI Special Agent in Charge Folden.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, federal authorities arrested Hossain at an international airport in Houston. Shortly after the arrest, U.S. Magistrate Judge Dena Hanovice Palermo formally notified Hossain that he was named in an indictment accusing him of smuggling 14 individuals from Mexico into the U.S. The judge ordered that the suspect be held without bond.

In Nuevo Leon, the state Public Security Secretary Aldo Fasci confirmed the arrest adding that Hossain is wanted in several other countries as part of a vast human trafficking network. The Bangladeshi national has been linked to the smuggling of more than 1,000 individuals from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, Fasci said. Of the smuggling victims, at least 700 women, primarily from Bangladesh, have been smuggled into the U.S. through various ports of entry, he said.

Nuevo Leon authorities revealed that they and federal authorities are continuing their investigation and are looking into Mexican immigration agents to determine if any were involved with Hossain’s network. Authorities did not reveal if the Bangladeshi suspect worked with a drug cartel.

This information is extremely worrying, especially when you consider that professionals worldwide have been linking the use of antidepressants to suicide, suicidal thoughts, and attempted suicide, for many years. Studies Prove that Antidepressants Can Lead Patients to Die by Suicide

In 2016, in her article titled 7 Facts About Depression That Will Blow You Away, holistic women’s health psychiatrist, Kelly Brogan, M.D., stated that:

Despite what you’ve been led to believe, antidepressants have repeatedly been shown in long-term scientific studies to worsen the course of mental illness—to say nothing of the risks of liver damage, bleeding, weight gain, sexual dysfunction, and reduced cognitive function they entail. The dirtiest little secret of all is the fact that antidepressants are among the most difficult drugs to taper from, more so than alcohol and opiates. While you might call it “going through withdrawal,” we medical professionals have been instructed to call it “discontinuation syndrome,” which can be characterized by fiercely debilitating physical and psychological reactions. Moreover,antidepressants have a well-established history of causing violent side effects, including suicide and homicide. Worryingly, Brogan highlighted the fact that the majority of prescriptions being written for antidepressants were actually being written by general practitioners and not psychiatrists, as one would expect. She wrote that:

Seven percent of all visits to a primary care doctor end with an antidepressant and almost three-quarters of the prescriptions are written without a specific diagnosis. What’s more, when the Department of Mental Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health did its own examination into the prevalence of mental disorders, it found that most people who take antidepressants never meet the medical criteria for a bona fide diagnosis of major depression, and many who are given antidepressants for things like OCD, panic disorder, social p
