It was also the “Chief Blessing” of the followers of the false Jewish messiah, Shabbatai Tzevi, called Sabbateans, when they said, “Blessed is he who permits the forbidden”. This was their most profound blessing and it swept over half of the Jewish people in Europe within its clutches.
