I had a terrible HMO doctor who ordered an MRI when I was in no condition to have the iodine uptake. I was practically in encephalactic reaction to the smoke from the California fires. It would have risked me stopping breathing if the nurse had given me the shot. She refused to do it. She was panicked that the doctor even recommended it. What was weird was that the doctor had had a public spat with me a few weeks before when we were strangers on the street. He was a real asshole.
