What i know of the bill requires that the offender enter into extensive rehab/training/education program in the system & that if they are fully compliant with same, then & only then, would they recieve a v.minor reduction in sentence at the very end of their stint. Look, nobody wants criminals not to be punisged, but the truth is if you don't do something in the form of rehabilit a tion and training then the recidivism rate is clise to 80% & ensures that as soon ss they get out they'll reoffend, impact someone elses life, cost more money to pursue and throw back in prison where they continue to be a drain on taxpayers. Would you rather someone serve their full 12 years get no training or rehab, get out & immediately reoffend. Or would you rather someone go through an extensive training and socialisation program, serve maybe 10.5 yrs, get out, get a job & become a law abiding citizen? Seems like economic sense to me. Can't just keep locking ppl up, building more prisons & draining the economy..
Yeah, don't wanna slide too much… i get where you're coming from… many of us have been touched by crime. I once woke up in the back of an ambulance after having been jumped by a gang in the street. But i think the idea isnto give them the minimum incentive to get the maximum compliance in terms of sticking to the program. If you don't incentivise them they won't do it and back to square 1. Anyway, no argument from me that violent offenders deserve to be punished, but i just think they are searching for a better way. We all know what we have now doesn't work too great. Peace
Yup she can't understand why there always seems to be corn kernels in the doogie… even when she hasn't eaten any lately…?
Well the gatekeeper got called for trying to scale the gates of the fairer sex without permission huh..? lmfao
Well thank fuck for that… Given tha HW was an utter swamp creature implicated in dozens of assassinations, drug dealing, creating terrorist armies, corruption and any other crime against humanity you can imagine… I'm pretty sure getting his endorsement wasn't terribly high on POTUS priority list
