Reported on CNN yesterday is that the told the America vet Dogs group that the did not need a helper dog and to pass it on to someone more needy.
But, reportedly, the group told Bush Sr that if would be good publicity for them if he kept the dog because it would encourage more vets to accept dogs as helpers.
Something seems a little off about that explanation to me. but who knows.
