From what I've read the policemen agreed to take their helmets off in exchange for a peaceful protest. The zogbots are not on the people's side yet. There's footage floating on the internet where a protester gets shot by a sharpshooter perched on a balcony and collapses to the ground. That happened a few days ago I believe. A notable spokesperson for the police went on air recently deploring how little funding they have been getting for gear etc. Still a ways to go.
I can't make it out for certain but was he holding a camera or some kind of gadget? If so, the sniper team may have mistaken it for a weapon and made a split-second decision under duress. It's a sad tale for sure.
