Because they don't want the 'average Joe' to realize he's not alone. They want us divided, alone, to think that we're the only ones who think the way we do, because that keeps us quiet, complacent, and under control. Once people realize that others feel the same way they do, they band together just as we have here. They can deal with and silence individuals, they can't deal with collectives.
