Regarding waves in the region of Mayotte Island there's the suspicious waves emanating from Marion Island awhile back that looks to be pointed in the direction of Madagascar. I'm not sure as the clouds (drift bending the observed wave) could be throwing the apparent direction off but still it's yet another wave occurrence in the region.
