The media and deep state did everything they could to diminish/disrupt the grass roots Tea Party protests on the Mall.

They essentially shut down the metro so people couldn't get into the city. They denied group charter buses parking permits in DC, while paid counter protestors got police-escorted bus rides right to the heart of the rally. The media deliberately misrepresented the size and enthusiasm of the crowd and "interviews" were pre-scripted to mock those who innocently thought that their views and their movement would be presented honestly. They were afraid THEN and a similar grassroots movement would terrify them because social media did not exist in 2009 like it does not.
