also you need to take into account the type of cars they have, in Peru, those taxis get shitloads of miles to a gallon, i forget how much they pay a gallon and it was 10 years ago, but other countries have car engines and carbs like we used to have in the 70's that use to get 40 and 50 miles to the gallon,
i was at a car dealer waiting to have my car fixed, and i walked around, seen the trucks, and looked at the mpg, was around 20 or so, and then i seen the small puddle jumpers and thought, wow, if they had cars in the 70's that did 50mpg that i wonder what they are now!, and surprise, it was just a little above 20 mpg, and i was like, say what????
long story short, i asked them what was up with that!, and he told me, its the emissions, its a scam, you burn 1/3 more gas for it to be cleaner, and i said, and when you think about it, oil refineries making 1/3 more gas, gas truck deliveries 1/3 more deliveries to each station, ect, well, we have been scammed big time with the emissions control BS
