Section 7m of the US Flag code requires the flag to be flown at half-staff for 30 days upon the death of a president or former president.
That said, do double meanings exist here? Lots of other reasons related to death to fly at half-staff. Let's see if it stays up longer than 30 days or gets turned upside down signaling a nation in distress.
