Clinton-DNC Used Law Firm to Pay for Anti-Trump Dossier

(Washington, DC) — Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Justice seeking records of all meetings in 2016 between former FBI General Counsel James Baker and the Perkins Coie law firm. The Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) reportedly paid Fusion GPS to create the “salacious and unverified” Clinton-DNC anti-Trump dossier.

The lawsuit cites a specific media report that FBI top lawyer Baker met with Perkins Coie lawyers to discuss allegations of collusion between Donald Trump and Russia. The meeting reportedly took place weeks before the 2016 election and before the FBI secured a controversial FISA spy warrant targeting then-candidate Trump’s campaign.

Judicial Watch filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia after the DOJ failed to respond to an October 9, 2018, FOIA request (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-02617)) seeking:

All records concerning any and all meetings between former FBI general counsel James Baker and one or more attorneys from Perkins Coie, the Democratic National Committee’s private law firm during 2016.

On October 4, 2018, Fox News reported that Baker told congressional investigators that Perkins Coie lawyer Michael Sussmann “initiated contact with him and provided documents and computer storage devices on Russian hacking.” The contact was made in late 2016 as federal investigators prepared a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to spy on Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

At the time, Perkins Coie had hired opposition research firm Fusion GPS to dig into President Trump’s background. Fusion GPS paid British ex-spy Christopher Steele to compile the anti-Trump dossier, memos from which were shared with the FBI in the summer of 2016.

The DNC and Clinton campaign’s funding of the unverified dossier was revealed in a memo from House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes which was disclosed publicly on February 2, 2018.

According to an October 24, 2017, report, Perkins Coie lawyer Marc E. Elias retained Fusion GPS in April 2016 on behalf of the Clinton campaign and DNC: “The Clinton campaign and DNC, through the law firm, continued to fund Fusion GPS’s research through the end of October 2016, days before Election Day.” Fusion GPS gave Steele’s dossier and other research documents to Elias.

“The real collusion scandal is the hand-in-hand effort by the Clinton campaign and the Obama DOJ/FBI to spy upon and destroy Donald J. Trump,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said. “The FBI, pulled by the troika of Comey/McCabe/Strzok, became an arm of the Clinton campaign. And our new lawsuit aims to get to the bottom of the massive scandal.”

‘Don’t underestimate us’ - MI6 boss warns Russia in latest sign of heightened tensions

The head of MI6 warned Russia against underestimating the UK’s capabilities, accusing the Kremlin of using “military-grade chemical weapon on UK soil,” during a speech at a university in Scotland.

In only his second major speech since his appointment as Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) in 2014, Alex Younger took aim at Moscow over the Salisbury poisoning and their stance of “perpetual confrontation” with the West.

Ex-Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, were poisoned and hospitalized in Salisbury in March. The Russian government was immediately blamed by London, accusations that Moscow has consistently denied. While the UK steadfastly refused the Kremlin’s offer of a joint investigation. The incident led to the biggest expulsion of Russian diplomats since the Cold War.

“The Russian state used a military-grade chemical weapon on UK soil,” Younger told students and assembled journalists at the University of St Andrews.

Qatar Quits OPEC

Qatar will leave the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries as of next month, its energy minister told media today, adding that the decision was part of a long-term strategy for growing its international presence on energy markets with a focus on gas.

Qatar is the world’s largest exporter of liquefied natural gas, but it has Australia breathing down its neck as well as emerging competition from the United States and other, smaller, producers.

“Qatar has decided to withdraw its membership form OPEC effective January 2019 and this decision was communicated to OPEC this morning,” Saad al-Kaabi said, as quoted by Reuters, at a news conference. He said the decision had been hard to make since Qatar had been a member of the cartel for almost six decades, but it had very little influence on OPEC decisions. Qatar produces about 600,000 bpd, which ranks it among the smaller OPEC producers.

While the minister said the decision to quit had no relation to a Saudi-led blockade by neighbors Qatar has been subjected to for a year and a half now, tense relations with the biggest producer in the region must have had an effect on the final decision.

The group that initiated the blockade, which also includes Egypt, the UAE, and Bahrain, accused Qatar of supporting terrorist groups and being too close to Iran. Qatar has denied the accusations and launched counter-accusations against the leader, Saudi Arabia, of trying for a regime change in the Gulf state.

Qatar has plans to boost its liquefied natural gas production to as much as 100 million tons annually, from a current rate of 77 million tons. It exports gas at a daily rate of about 11 billion cu ft and accounts for almost a third of the global LNG market. The country’s proven gas reserves are estimated at 880 trillion cu ft.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Meet Israeli PM in Brussels

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Brussels later this Monday, according to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.

According to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, “The two will discuss regional developments. Prime Minister Netanyahu will be accompanied by Mossad Director Yossi Cohen, National Security Council Director Meir Ben-Shabbat, and his Military Secretary, Brig.-Gen. Avi Blot.”

Secretary Pompeo intends to stay Belgium through Wednesday. According to the State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert, Secretary Pompeo will meet with leaders from several NATO countries as a follow-up to a previously-held July meeting in Brussels.

The details of the bilateral meeting between Pompeo and Netanyahu remain vague. According to a Reuters report, Pompeo condemned the Iranian regime for testing a ballistic missile, which is in direct violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231. Iran is a threat to both Israel and the United States.

Marine Le Pen, the leader of France's right-wing National Rally party, proposed to dissolve the lower chamber of the French Parliament and hold new parliamentary elections amid the ongoing massive protests against rising fuel prices.

"It is necessary to implement proportional representation and dissolve the National Assembly in order to hold new proportional elections," she said in an interview with TV channel France 3 which aired on Sunday, adding that the authorities have no choice in the current situation.

The Assembly has not been dissolved since April 1997, when Jacques Chirac made the move in a bid to seek support for his conservative economic programme.

Le Pen, who lost to Emmanuel Macron in the second round of the 2017 presidential election, chastised the President for his insufficient response to the protests, which have been stirring unrest in France for over two weeks. "We are the best in policing the world," she said. "In this case, we've been very bad."

Nearly 36,000 protesters, including some 5,500 in Paris alone, took to the streets on Saturday, angry over Macron's proposal to increase fuel tax rates. Thousands of police officers were deployed to contain the protests.

Paris police repeatedly used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd. The capital's officials reported, as quoted by AP, that a total of 133 people were injured during the riot and 412 were arrested. The French authorities indicated that they could introduce a state of emergency to quell the unrest.

Mueller Withheld "Details That Would Exonerate The President" Of Having Kremlin Backchannel

It appears that special counsel Robert Mueller withheld key information in its plea deal with Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, which would exonerate Trump and undermine the entire purpose of the special counsel, according to Paul Sperry of RealClearInvestigations.

Cohen pleaded guilty last week to lying to the Senate intelligence committee in 2017 about the Trump Organization's plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow - telling them under oath that negotiations he was conducting ended five months sooner than they actually did.

Mueller, however, in his nine-page charging document filed with the court seen by Capitol Hill sources, failed to include the fact that Cohen had no direct contacts at the Kremlin - which undercuts any notion that the Trump campaign had a "backchannel" to Putin.

On page 7 of the statement of criminal information filed against Cohen, which is separate from but related to the plea agreement, Mueller mentions that Cohen tried to email Russian President Vladimir Putin’s office on Jan. 14, 2016, and again on Jan. 16, 2016. But Mueller, who personally signed the document, omitted the fact that Cohen did not have any direct points of contact at the Kremlin, and had resorted to sending the emails to a general press mailbox. Sources who have seen these additional emails point out that this omitted information undercuts the idea of a “back channel” and thus the special counsel's collusion case. -RCI

Page 2 of the same charging document offers further evidence that there was no connection between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin; an August 2017 letter from Cohn to the Senate intelligence committee states that Trump "was never in contact with anyone about this [Moscow Project] proposal other than me," an assertion which Mueller does not contest as false - which means that "prosecutors have tested its veracity through corroborating sources" and found it to be truthful, according to Sperry's sources. Also unchallenged by Mueller is Cohen's statement that he "ultimately determined that the proposal was not feasible and never agreed to make a trip to Russia."

“Though Cohen may have lied to Congress about the dates,” one Hill investigator said, “it's clear from personal messages he sent in 2015 and 2016 that the Trump Organization did not have formal lines of communication set up with Putin’s office or the Kremlin during the campaign. There was no secret ‘back channel.’”

DHS Opposes GOP’s Stealth Bill to Outsource College Graduate Jobs

Republican leaders are expected to drop a political stinker on President Donald Trump by mid-December: a donor-backed amendment that would allow investors to import more college-graduates from India to take jobs now held by American college graduates.

The GOP-run amendment puts 300,000 imported Indian temporary workers and 300,000 of their family members on a fast-track to green-cards, Americans’ jobs, citizenship, and the ballot box — but it provides no benefits to middle-class Americans.

The GOP amendment would provide Democratic-leaning donors with more imported white-collar workers, more temporary workers, more profits, and higher stock values — but it provides nothing to help the GOP win the 2020 election.

Yet the little-known amendment “is very much alive,” a source told Breitbart News.

The amendment is hidden in House’s 2019 draft budget plan for the Department of Homeland Security. Reporters have almost entirely ignored the amendment while they focus on the debate over border-wall funding. In turn, business-friendly GOP staffers and legislators do not see the amendment’s political danger or the public opposition, the source said.

But the Department of Homeland Security has ended its silence on the plan by telling Breitbart News that it opposes the amendment. “It is important that Congress does due diligence on any proposed sweeping change to our immigration system,” a DHS official told Breitbart News. “The bottom line is Congress needs to ensure what they are passing is in the best interests of the American people.”

The planned hit against white collar workers comes as GOP leaders digest their dramatic loss in November of support from college graduate voters. “First of all, it is suburban voters,” retiring Speaker Paul Ryan said on November 29. “That is the number one liability we experienced.”

American professionals are protesting the planned expansion of the outsourcing program and flew a banner around D.C. on Thursday, appealing to GOP Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy because he has the power to shut down the expansion:

Donald Trump Willing to Extend Wall Funding Deadline After George H.W. Bush Death

President Donald Trump said Saturday he would be willing to extend a short deadline extension for the Department of Homeland Security funding, after the death of former President George H.W. Bush.

Trump confirmed to reporters that he had been approached by members of Congress about an extension.

“I would absolutely consider it and probably give it,” he said to reporters aboard Air Force One.

The president has threatened a partial shutdown of the government if Congress fails to include $5 billion of additional wall funding into the bill.

Many members of Congress plan to attend Bush’s Washington D.C. funeral, scheduled for Wednesday, December 5, followed by a Thursday ceremony in Texas.

Funding expires on Friday, December 7 for DHS as well as the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Justice, Interior, State, Transportation and Housing and Urban Development.

Trump has vowed to shut down the border entirely if Democrats continue opposing funding for his promised wall.

“We would save Billions of Dollars if the Democrats would give us the votes to build the Wall,” he wrote on Twitter. “Either way, people will NOT be allowed into our Country illegally! We will close the entire Southern Border if necessary. Also, STOP THE DRUGS!”

UC Berkeley Student Government Votes to Fund Migrant Caravan

The University of California Berkeley student government voted to financially fund the migrant caravan in a resolution passed by the student senate on Wednesday night.

The Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) voted for “financially contributing to [migrants’] legal fees and health services” by immediately allocating $1,500 to the student organization Central Americans For Empowerment (CAFE).

Thereafter, the CAFE student group plans to appropriate those funds to the organization “Freedom for Immigrants,” an advocacy group for illegal immigration.

“The President of the United States closed all entry ports between Mexico and the United States to make a nationalist statement of power,” stated the resolution passed on Wednesday, “The United States, fueled by corporate greed, has strategically intervened in Central American politics and warfare.”

“Humans at the border are being attacked, and are being denied asylum, here in this country,” stated an individual who introduced herself as Arlette, a recent UC Berkeley graduate and co-founder of CAFE, “This is your one time to change — to actually represent [Central American] students, to actually care about their needs.”

The alumna added that she had been working with students, who could have been dedicating their time for studying, but instead, have been going to the border and soliciting funds for the caravan.

“That’s their health and mental health, that is being at, like, risk,” stated the alumna, “and if you guys pass this bill, it’s going to help them be able to focus, and to know that there’s money going to [the caravan].”

“Coming to a predominately white institution is not easy,” added a student who spoke out during public portion, “coming to this university is hard enough.”

“Y’all really prove time and time again that y’all don’t give a fuck about students of color,” added another student, “There are so many people within this university who would be, like — their mommies and daddies would be able to drop $1,500, but guess what? Our communities do not have that type of fucking money, okay? So $1,500 is not going to do shit to your fucking money that ya’ll have.”

Another student claimed that voting “no” on the resolution would perpetuate violence.

“US imperialism and white colonialism has been implemented in Central American countries,” said a teary-eyed student, adding that she would be ashamed to see anyone in the student senate vote against funding the migrant caravan.

“Who do you think you are to be silencing us?” She said in an emotional plea for a unanimous “yes” vote.

By the end of the four-hour meeting, the Senate unanimously voted “yes” to financially aid the “pursuit of asylum.”

The resolution will allocate funds toward the migrant caravan, as well as “task the Office of the External Affairs Vice President with phone-banking and lobbying” for “comprehensive immigration reform” and “ending the violent practices of [US] border patrol agents.”

Lest we forget, one day before the 9/11 attacks [as well as on the morning of 9/11, the dad of the sitting President of the United States of America, George Herbert Walker Bush was meeting none other than Shafiq bin Laden, the brother of the alleged terror mastermind Osama bin Laden.

It was a routine business meeting on September 10-11, no conflict of interest, no relationship to the 9/11 attacks which allegedly were carried out on the orders of Shafiq’s brother Osama, no FBI investigation into the links between the Bush and bin Laden families.

What is presented below is a factual account. Confirmed by the Washington Post, “fellow investors” of the Carlyle Group including Osama’s brother Shafiq bin Laden and Dubya’s dad former President George H. W. Bush met in the plush surroundings of New York’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel on September 10-11, 2001. Their business encounter under the auspices of the Carlyle Group was unfortunately interrupted on September 11 by the 9/11 attacks.

It didn’t help that as the World Trade Center burned on Sept. 11, 2001, the news interrupted a Carlyle business conference at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel here attended by a brother of Osama bin Laden [Shafiq bin Laden].
