Indeed, they were all individually hired to portray a rock band on a tv conedy show. Funny thing is they turned out to gell as a real band and had millions of adoring fans. I was one of them. My first concert at age 13 was the Monkees. Thousands of us teenie boppers (mostly girls) were on our feet the whole time screaming. Oh, the good ol' days!!!!
