Here is an APACHE theory: someone unfriendly recruited lead Apache developer Brian Behlendorf.

Brian Behlendorf was a Senior Advisor to the World Economic Forum in 2013. Some potential unfriendlies at the same conference include Vision 3, formerly known as DMI Trust.

Behlendorf was CTO of the World Economic Forum in 2011, was a technology advisor on the 2008 Obama campaign, and was on the boards of directors of the Mozilla Foundation, Benetech, and CollabNet. He worked at the Office of Science and Technology Policy at the White House.

Behlendorf was on the MozFest 2016 Speaker Series with professional nutcase Ashe Dryden, WMF executive director Katherine Maher, and Bellingcat's Eliot Higgins. There are some connected names here.

I don't see any sign of Behlendorf himself doing anything wrong but he has been in several of the wrong places at the wrong times.

Thanks for the heads up. They're reporting it as an accidental fire in an unused building that is fed by construction materials. Do you know if it is next to anything important that someone might want destroyed?
