both through automation
the owners of production will have to choose between competitive pricing and profits
new alternatives will spring up with a focus on quality and undercut all the value proposition brands.
prices will drop through the floor, cost of living will mean we can all afford ferraris and fake-steak, but we'll all lose our jobs.
if we straddle the line with a subsidized living wage for a year, we'll make it with little pain… but it's possible panic could hit and that would suck but we'd recover because everything will be so fucking cheap.
