DEVELOPING: Mueller Expected to Recommend Sentencing For Mike Flynn

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is prepping for the end of his Russia probe and will release memos this week about Mike Flynn, Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen.

The deadline for Mueller to file a memo recommending sentencing for General Mike Flynn is Tuesday, reported Fox News.

Memos about Manafort and Cohen are expected to be released Friday.

The court filing should shed light on Flynn’s cooperation so far with the Special Counsel.

The Special Counsel has delayed General Flynn’s sentencing for a year saying “due to status” of the investigation.

Flynn pleaded guilty to making a false statement to the FBI last December after he was ambushed by agents without his lawyer.

The Deep State wiretapped then-National Security Advisor Mike Flynn’s phone calls to Russian Ambassador Kislyak during the Trump transition – then leaked his calls to the media.

Congressional investigators also believe the 302’s summary reports the FBI agents took while interviewing Mike Flynn in January of 2017 were altered.

President Trump should pardon Mike Flynn, a three-star General who served the United States with honor for decades.

UK Tory govt found to be first ever to be in contempt of parliament

UK govt ministers have been found to be in contempt of parliament for failing to publish the full legal advice concerning the Brexit deal agreed with the EU, an offence that can result in expulsion from the house of commons.

The contempt of parliament motion tabled by Labour and other opposition parties, including PM Theresa May's confidence and supply partners, the DUP, was passed by 311 votes to 293.

Responding to the government's defeat, Leader of the House, Andrea Leadsom, told MPs that the final and full legal advice would be published on Wednesday.

The government had initially lost a vote, 311 votes to 307, on their own amendment which would have meant the case of 'contempt' being referred to the Parliamentary standards committee.

It's an embarrassing defeat for Theresa May's government, who now face five days of Brexit debate, before the crunch vote on the deal agreed with the EU on December 11.

Russia has ‘60 days to fix compliance with INF’ or US will quit – Pompeo

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said that Washington will suspend its obligations under the 1987 INF nuclear treaty within 60 days if Russia does not “return to compliance.”

Speaking to NATO foreign ministers on Tuesday, Pompeo said the US was willing to start the process of leaving the treaty, citing alleged Russian violations.

The Goldman Sachs report asserts that Italy risks recession early in 2019 with financial markets forcing the government to change its economic policy claiming it is “more likely that the pressure of the markets catalyses a return to budget discipline”.

Their report on global growth is entitled ‘Landing the Plane’, says ”Italy is casting a dark cloud” claiming that Italy was one of the risk factors which could entangle the prospects for the European market next year, adding that “things could get worse before an improvement is seen”.

The report makes the claim that a dispute with the European Commission being left “unresolved” could mean the economy in Italy would “flirt with recession at the start of next year”.

As well, despite a consensus among analysts predicting a growth of 1 per cent, Goldman Sachs forecast the GDP growth would only be 0.4 per cent and said it was “skeptical” about Brussels or Rome being able to “change direction” in their budget negotiations.

CNN President Jeff Zucker Claims His Network Is Not ‘Anti-Trump,’ It’s ‘Pro-Truth’

CNN President Jeff Zucker claimed in a podcast with David Axelrod that his network is “pro-truth” and not “anti-Trump.”

In an episode of “The Axe Files” released Monday, Zucker speculated about potentially running for office and discussed why he thinks his network has become a target of President Donald Trump.

Zucker suggested that at least some of Trump’s attacks on CNN are personal, noting that he was responsible for putting “The Apprentice” on the air when he was running NBC and was a personal friend of Trump’s.

“The fact is, we’ve had this long, you know, 20-plus year relationship, that for a long time was quite strong,” Zucker said. “And Donald Trump did not understand, in the end, that just because we were friends didn’t mean he wasn’t going to be subjected to the proper scrutiny. He thought CNN should give him a pass because we were friends. He thought CNN should be like Fox News and just, you know, give him glowing coverage all the time.”

In addition, Zucker challenged critics who believe CNN has become an anti-Trump network, asserting that CNN’s job is to be “pro-truth,” even if that means criticizing the president.

“I think that our job at CNN is to tell the truth,” Zucker said. “The problem is, in this day and age, I do understand that sometimes when you’re pro-truth, it comes off as anti-Trump.”

“In no way should we set out, ever, to be anti-Trump. We should always set out to be pro-truth,” he continued. “And all I encourage our shows and our anchors to be, is to hold those in power accountable and tell the truth. If that comes off as anti-Trump, then that’s a byproduct of being pro-truth.”

Border Patrol Video Shows Migrant Children Being Dropped from Border Wall

A Yuma Sector Border Patrol camera operator observed a suspected human smuggler dropping two small children from the top of an 18-foot border wall. At least one of the children suffered an injury from the drop.

A camera operator monitoring a section of the border wall near the San Luis Port of Entry early on Mondy morning observed a group of six illegal aliens being smuggled over the wall. The operator observed at least two small children being dropped from the top of the 18-foot wall, according to information obtained from Yuma Sector Border Patrol officials.

A local CBS television station obtained a copy of the Border Patrol video and tweeted it out:

Border Patrol officials said, in a written statement, that the person seen dropping the migrants from the top of the wall fled back into Mexico after he finished. He was not apprehended.

When agents arrived on the scene, they found a group of six Guatemalan nationals. Officials said the migrants were part of a family unit that included three children — a two-year-old, a seven-year-old, and a ten-year-old. The migrants surrendered to agents without incident.

Border Patrol officials noted that one of the children suffered a facial injury during the fall. An agent treated the injury at the scene.

Agents took the group of six Guatemalan nationals into custody and transported them to the station for processing. Officials did not say if the migrants were part of the migrant caravan.

The section of the wall where the incident took place utilized the older technology that allows migrants to climb and cross over the top, officials stated. This 27-mile section of border wall has already been selected and funded for replacement by newer technology walls.

TEL AVIV – Israel has mobilized artillery and unrolled a partial mobilization of reservists from the Air Force and Military Intelligence to thwart potential attacks from Lebanese terror group Hezbollah following the launch of an IDF operation to destroy cross-border attack tunnels dug by the Iranian-backed group.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also serves as defense minister, held a meeting with security chiefs and senior defense officials Tuesday afternoon at IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv to discuss the operation, which has been dubbed Northern Shield.

IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Ronen Manlis said the military was gearing itself up for an “extended operation.”

Official: Massive Propaganda War Launched against Iran by US

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President's Chief of Staff Mahmoud Vaezi warned that Washington which has been disappointed at military assault against Iran has now resorted to propaganda warfare.

EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini underlined last month that the EU was trying hard to preserve the JCPOA, and said that efforts were underway to implement the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).

"The EU Special Purpose Vehicle for bypassing the US sanctions on Iran is still unknown, but the work was being carried out in a positive manner," Mogherini added.

SCANDAL: The Scientist Who Created Genetically Modified Babies Has Gone MISSING

On November 25, young Chinese researcher He Jiankui became the center of a global firestorm when it was discovered that he had allegedly made the first CRISPR-edited (genetically modified human) babies; twin girls named Lulu and Nana. Since the story broke, many have balked at the ethics of such an experiment and He has gone missing.

Antonio Regalado broke the story for MIT Technology Review, and He himself originally seemed unafraid. In fact, He described the experiment in person at an international gene-editing summit in Hong Kong. The experiment was done, according to He, to help make humans resistant to the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) for their entire lives by giving them a specific gene capable of doing such.

He Jiankui of Shenzhen, the Chinese scientist claiming to have altered twin girls’ genes, said he altered embryos for seven couples during fertility treatments, with one pregnancy resulting thus far. He said his goal was not to cure or prevent an inherited disease, but to try to bestow a trait that few people naturally have: the ability to resist possible future infection with HIV, the AIDS virus. Although his path is paved with good intentions, many have warned of the dangers of this type of genetic modification.

He said he chose embryo gene editing for HIV because these infections are a big problem in China. He sought to disable a gene called CCR5 that forms a protein doorway that allows HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, to enter a cell. But not all scientists are on board with He’s genetic modifications. –SHTFPlan

It is still unclear if He did what he claims to have done. Nonetheless, the reaction was swift and severe. The uproar over the unproven report of gene-edited births in China has researchers elsewhere worried about a backlash. In this case, the backlash was so severe, that He has gone missing. According to the San Francisco Gate, He’s employer, the Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen, denied reports that the scientist was detained by any human acting as “authority” or government. “Right now nobody’s information is accurate, only the official channels are,” a spokesperson told the South China Morning Post. She refused to comment further.

There are only two outcomes to He’s experiment: he was successful, or he was not successful. Let’s assume he failed miserably and some scientists are correct that he violated ethics rules. He would have likely already been arrested considering the scientist was far from keeping this experiment a secret. Let’s now assume he was successful and created human beings that can resist a virus that there is no known cure for, and for which medications help make pharmaceutical companies millions of dollars each year.

This all begs the same question: why would a well-respected scientist go missing if He has already made this public and claimed no wrongdoing? To be fair, this is an ethical gray area. But what if He found a way for humans to resist a virus that can only be treated with very expensive medications provided by Big Pharma? Is that the reason he’s missing?

Thousands of emails from top Republicans were stolen during the 2018 midterm election in a major hack.

Email accounts from four top aides at the National Republican Congressional Committee were hacked and surveilled for several months. The hack was first detected in April by an MSSP, a managed security services provider that monitors the NRCC’s network; the FBI was then alerted.

The origin of the attack is unknown at this time, however; they believe it was a foreign agent.

None of the stolen emails were made public and the NRCC says donor information was not compromised.

The House GOP campaign arm suffered a major hack during the 2018 election, exposing thousands of sensitive emails to an outside intruder, according to three senior party officials.

The email accounts of four senior aides at the National Republican Congressional Committee were surveilled for several months, the party officials said. The intrusion was detected in April by an NRCC vendor, who alerted the committee and its cybersecurity contractor. An internal investigation was initiated and the FBI was alerted to the attack, said the officials, who requested anonymity to discuss the incident.

However, senior House Republicans — including Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) — were not informed of the hack until POLITICO contacted the NRCC on Monday with questions about the episode. Rank-and-file House Republicans were not told, either.

“The NRCC can confirm that it was the victim of a cyber intrusion by an unknown entity. The cybersecurity of the Committee’s data is paramount, and upon learning of the intrusion, the NRCC immediately launched an internal investigation and notified the FBI, which is now investigating the matter. To protect the integrity of that investigation, the NRCC will offer no further comment on the incident,” said Ian Prior, a vice president at Mercury.

Members of the House GOP suffered a "major" hack during the 2018 midterm election, exposing thousands of sensitive emails to an unknown intruder, according to Politico, which cites three senior party officials.

The email accounts of four senior aides at the National Republican Congressional Committee were surveilled for several months, the party officials said. The intrusion was detected in April by an NRCC vendor, who alerted the committee and its cybersecurity contractor. An internal investigation was initiated and the FBI was alerted to the attack, said the officials, who requested anonymity to discuss the incident. -Politico

That said, the hack was concealed from senior House Republicans, including Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Steve Scalise (R-LA) - who had no clue about the intrusion until Politico contacted the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) with questions about the hack.

Committee officials say they decided to withhold the information pending their own investigation, and thought that revealing the hack would compromise their efforts to uncover who did it.

"We don't want to get into details about what was taken because it's an ongoing investigation," said one senior party official. "Let's say they had access to four active accounts. I think you can draw from that."

As the 2018 midterms unfolded, the hack became a major source of internal turmoil within the NRCC - which brought on D.C. law firm Covington and Burling and Mercury Public Affairs to manage the response to the hack. The two firms were paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by the GOP Committee, while NRCC chief legal counsel, Chris Winkleman, has spent hours of his time to addressing the issue.

While party officials would not say when the hack began or who they think did it, they privately think it was a foreign agent due to the nature of the attack.

Party officials claim that none of the information obtained in the hack - namely thousands of emails from senior NRCC aides, has appeared in public, while there were no attempts to approach the NRCC or its leadership to threaten exposure of the data. That said, Politico notes that the hack and subsequent coverup "is likely to prove embarrassing at a time when Republicans are grappling with an election in which they lost 40 seats and control of the house."

‘Ballot Harvesting’ Helped Flip Seven US House Races in California After Election Day

Recent changes to state election law have transformed California’s election system into one that’s no longer decided on Election Day, but in the weeks after.

The changes, specifically to mail-in ballots, led to Democrats flipping seven U.S. House seats after Nov. 6, and Republicans crying foul over the newly legalized practice of “ballot harvesting.”

Speaking to the Washington Post on Nov. 29, outgoing House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) said the string of lost elections “defies logic.”

“We had a lot of wins that night, and three weeks later, we lost basically every contested California race. This election system they have, I can’t begin to understand what ballot harvesting is,” Ryan said.

In 2016, the California Legislature passed AB-1921, a measure that altered the state’s vote-by-mail procedures to allow any third party to collect and turn in another person’s completed ballot. Previously, only close relatives or someone living in the same household could collect and return someone else’s ballot.

The seemingly slight adjustment allowed for activists and political parties to deliver ballots to targeted would-be voters, solicit a completed ballot, and return it to a voting site without a secure chain of custody. While the upside is increased voter participation, the risk of fraud and coercion is more than a partisan concern.

At least 16 states expressly regulate ballot harvesting, or ballot collection, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Some states limit who can turn in another person’s ballot, while others ban the practice entirely.

In 2016, Arizona passed a law making the collection of early voting ballots by political operatives a felony after it led to voter fraud. In 2012, a presidential election year, a political advocacy group—not directly affiliated with a campaign—was collecting ballots while its members were posing as election workers.

Sheriffs Call on Congress to Fund Border Wall System

WASHINGTON – A group of sheriffs from around the country recently called on Congress to pass at least $5 billion toward building a wall along the 2,000-mile southwest border.

“The No. 1 issue facing all Americans, I don’t care who you ask, is the heroin epidemic that affects us all. And the Mexican drug-trafficking cartels dominate that industry and they’re controlling it coming into and throughout the United States. To every city, every urban area, every rural area in our country, the Mexican drug trafficking controls are seemingly doing it undetected, unmolested and unabated, and it’s time that we step up to the plate,” said Wicomico County Sheriff Michael Lewis during an interview after a recent Capitol Hill press conference about immigration law enforcement with sheriffs from counties across the country.

“It would make my job a lot of easier. I’m tired of dealing with overdoses. I’m tired of dealing with violent crime. I’m tired of dealing with human trafficking in our hotels all up and down U.S. Route 13 in Wicomico County, Md.,” he added. “And they’re there all the time and we’re making arrests all the time, but they keep coming and they keep coming because our borders are wide open.”

Lewis told PJM that any additional funds to expand barriers along the southwest border would help improve security.

“Any implementation of greater security along our border will present challenges to the cartels. Will those challenges include tunneling beneath that wall? Absolutely, that’s what we deal with. But, trust me, we know how we’re going to build that wall. We know what it takes to build that wall,” he said.

“We are going to build a wall. When this happens, it’s anyone’s guess at this point in time. But we need to hold our congressmen and their feet to the fire to help our president get his budget passed – $5 billion is what we are looking for …to get this wall started – that’s only a portion of what it’s going to cost to build this wall. Is it going to stop the flow of illegal immigration? Absolutely not, but it’s going to stop the flood that we currently have coming across our southwest border,” he added.

His message for lawmakers in the House and Senate is “do what you were elected to do” and support more border security measures.

“We will never have homeland security until we have border security, never,” Lewis said. “If you are unwilling to pass legislation, you’re willing to accept that there will be many more Americans lost, thousands more American lives lost – not just to murders, not just to rapists, not just to homicides but to drug trafficking.”

Member of Mexican sex trafficking ring sentenced to 8 years' imprisonment

NEW YORK — Raul Granados-Rendon, a member of the Granados family sex trafficking ring based in Tenancingo, Tlaxcala, Mexico, was sentenced Monday in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York (EDNY) to eight years’ imprisonment. Pursuant to an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in New York, Granados-Rendon pled guilty in December 2017 to trafficking young Mexican women into the United States and forcing them into prostitution. As part of his sentence, the defendant was ordered to pay $1,305,393.80 in restitution to Jane Doe.

“The victims of this man were forced into prostitution after being lured to the U.S. with false promises then threatened, beaten and sexually assaulted,” stated Angel M. Melendez, special agent in charge of HSI New York. “This man was on our agency’s top 10 fugitive list before being extradited and taken into custody early last year. It has been a long road, but now he will face the consequences of his reprehensible actions.”

“With today’s sentence, Raul Granados-Rendon is the latest member of his family’s Mexican sex trafficking operation to be held responsible for preying upon countless women, and profiting from their exploitation and dehumanization,” stated Richard P. Donoghue, U.S. Attorney for EDNY. “This prosecution and sentence mark another important outcome in a nearly decade-long commitment by this Office and our law enforcement partners to obtain justice for the victims,”

From October 1998 to December 2011, Raul Granados-Rendon, 31, participated in a sex trafficking conspiracy with other members of the Granados family, to smuggle numerous young women from Mexico to New York and force them to work as prostitutes in New York City and elsewhere. The male members of the conspiracy used false promises of romance and marriage to lure the victims into relationships and convince them to travel to the United States to make money so that they could build homes for themselves in Mexico. Once in the United States, the victims were subjected to violence, threats and sexual assaults by the defendants. Raul Granados-Rendon directed one of his victims to teach another victim “Jane Doe” how to prostitute. When Jane Doe did not produce as much income as other Granados family victims, the defendant physically abused her, dragging her by her hair into a bathroom and forcing her head into a sink. The defendant also helped transport another victim back to Mexico after his brother impregnated her and failed at his efforts to induce an abortion.

The investigation, prosecution, bilateral enforcement action and extraditions of the defendants apprehended in Mexico were coordinated through the U.S.-Mexico Bilateral Human Trafficking Enforcement Initiative. Since 2009, the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security have collaborated with Mexican law enforcement counterparts in the Initiative to more effectively dismantle human trafficking networks operating across the U.S.-Mexico border.

The HSI New York’s Trafficking in Persons Unit (TIPU) is comprised of senior criminal investigators, intelligence officers and victim assistance specialists who aid in the rescue of trafficking victims and prosecution of traffickers and trafficking organizations. TIPU investigators focus on the exploitation of victims by force, fraud or coercion regardless of the person’s manor or entry into the United States. ‘Stop killing women’: Israeli cities grind to a halt as thousands demand end to domestic violence

Highways and intersections across Israel came to a standstill on Tuesday as thousands of women blocked the streets, some lying in fake blood, to demand the government takes action to end the growing violence against women.

The strike began in Tel Aviv at 9.30AM, as women targeted a major interchange, causing hours worth of delays as they flooded onto the road to create traffic chaos in the busy city. As the day progressed, similar actions rolled out across the city’s highways and interchanges.

The nationwide women’s strike was called following the brutal murder of two teenage girls killed in separate attacks last week. Their deaths bring the number of women murdered in domestic violence incidents in Israel to 24 in 2018.

In Jerusalem, graphic scenes of women lying across the road in fake blood welcomed commuters parked outside the entrance to the city, blocked from entering by the protesters.

Beside them lay teddy bears along with death notices of the women murdered in cases of domestic violence. Others held placards with “Stop killing women!”

“Enough! Tired! Condemn every rapist!” shouted the protesters.

Organized by a group known as “I’m a Woman, I’m Striking” and an umbrella of women's groups under the “Red Flag coalition,” the strike has gained widespread backing with over 300 organizations, including labor unions, private companies, and local governments supporting the strike.

On Monday, the opposition Zionist Union brought a motion of no-confidence against the government in the Knesset over its failure to tackle the issue. However, it failed to pass due to the coalition government abstaining.

In a statement published on Monday night, the organizers reiterated their demand that the government immediately releases a $67 million emergency fund promised but never delivered in last year’s budget to tackle domestic violence, stating “actions are required, not empty words.”

Russia in Full Compliance With INF Treaty, US Side Knows Well About It - Moscow

Earlier, the US secretary of state urged Russia to return to the negotiating table to discuss the future of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. He added that the US would stop complying with it in 60 days if Moscow wouldn’t end its alleged violations of the accord.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded to earlier statements by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg regarding the INF treaty by stating that Moscow strictly adheres to the provisions of the arms accord.

"Russia is following the provisions of the treaty and the American side knows this well," she said.

Fitton: Judicial Watch Sues for Docs on Obama DOJ Effort to Shut Down Clinton Foundation Investigation

A major scandal, largely uninvestigated, is the Obama Justice Department’s protection of Hillary Clinton.

As per usual, Judicial Watch is taking the lead on this issue. They just filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice for all records of communications involving any investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) into the Clinton Foundation (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-02536).

Judicial Watch sued after the agency failed to respond to our May 4, 2018, FOIA request for:

All records of communication, including but not limited to e-mails (whether sent or received on .gov or non-.gov e-mail accounts), text messages, or instant chats, sent between officials in the offices of the FBI Director, Deputy Director and General Counsel on the one hand, and officials in the offices of the Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General and or Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General on the other hand, regarding the closure or possible closure of an investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

Remember that it was their FOIA lawsuit that led directly to the disclosure of the illicit Clinton email system in 2015.

Then in August 2016, a related Judicial Watch FOIA lawsuit broke open the email story and began making conflict of interest documents public, revealing Clinton’s shadowy pay-to-play schemes.

This lawsuit showed the sleazy details. For example, in April 2009 controversial Clinton Foundation official Doug Band pushed for a job for an associate. In the email, Band tells Hillary Clinton’s former aides at the State Department Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin that it is “important to take care of [Redacted]. Band is reassured by Abedin that “Personnel has been sending him options.” Band was co-founder of Teneo Strategy with Bill Clinton and a top official of the Clinton Foundation, including its Clinton Global Initiative.

Included in the documents we received as a result of the lawsuit was a 2009 email in which Band directs Abedin and Mills to put Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire and Clinton Foundation donor Gilbert Chagoury in touch with the State Department’s “substance person” on Lebanon. Band notes that Chagoury is “key guy there [Lebanon] and to us,” and insists that Abedin call Amb. Jeffrey Feltman to connect him to Chagoury.

Judicial Watch have since uncovered many other instances of seeming pay-to-play and favoritism for the Clinton Foundation at the Clinton State Department.

In January 2016, the FBI reportedly began investigating the Clinton Foundation, as it expanded from the email probe. In October 2016, FBI agents were told they did not have “enough evidence to move forward” with their investigation of the Foundation.

Russian embassy blasts May’s claims of Kerch Strait 'aggression' as unacceptable

LONDON, December 4. /TASS/. Russia’s Embassy in the United Kingdom has slammed as unacceptable the claims voiced by UK Prime Minister Theresa May that Russia carried out an act of aggression in the Kerch Strait, a spokesman for the diplomatic mission told reporters on Tuesday.

"We cannot accept these accusations. It’s well-known that on November 25 the Ukrainian Navy’s vessels blatantly violated the international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and also the rules of peaceful passage in Russia’s territorial waters in the Black Sea," the Russian diplomat said. "These illegal steps forced the Russian border guards to use force, and thanks to their restraint and high professionalism deaths were prevented."

The embassy stressed that the United Kingdom was informed of all details of the incident and it is surprising that the UK prime minister makes these assessments despite this knowledge.

Speaking at the House of Commons, the lower house of the UK parliament, on Monday, May labeled the incident in the Kerch Strait an example of Russia’s "act of aggression." She noted that London would discuss with the EU possible new sanctions against Moscow.

On November 25, three warships of the Ukrainian Navy violated the rules of passage through Russia's territorial waters while en route from the Black Sea to the Azov Sea. The Russian side had to use weapons to compel the ships to stop. Three Ukrainian servicemen were lightly wounded. They received medical assistance. The ships were detained and escorted to the port of Kerch. A criminal case was launched on border violation charges.

Moscow described the incident as a provocation. The Ukrainian authorities declared martial law. The EU and NATO called for de-escalation of the situation.

US Military Hiring Russian Linguists To Support Troops Deployed Near Russian Borders

It appears that a US contractor is seeking Russian linguists to support US military’s “classified contingency operations” in Norway and Moldova. The positions are largely the same, as the one SF previously reported for Mykolaiv, Ukraine.

As previously noted, Mission Essential is a government contractor, which primarily serves intelligence and military clients. It began as the US government’s leading provider of translation and interpretation services.

The Norwegian/Russian linguist job advert is also posted on LinkedIn. Similarly, to the Ukrainian one it requires an individual that would assisting in classified contingency operations, while being able to fit in with the local populace and present oneself according to the local customs.

Unlike the Ukrainian linguist ad which required “Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information” security clearing, the Norwegian/Russian linguist posting requires SECRET clearing.

The Russian linguist posting for Moldova, will notably provide assistance to the US military in Georgia or Moldova. And also includes a higher security clearance, a “Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information.”

Other than that, the adverts are completely identical in their requirements, namely with the requirement to:

“Have the ability to serve in a combat zone if necessary.”

These postings come amid the US Marine Corps’ largest rotational deployment to Norway, which took began on October 1st. Furthermore, this apparent increase in “classified contingency operations,” comes following Trident Juncture 2018, which took place in Norway and was the biggest NATO and allied state military exercise in recent years.

Regarding Moldova, there were reports of the country becoming a foothold for the US military as of August 2017 and limited information since then. Back then, the US Naval Facilities Engineering Command Europe Africa Southwest Asia (NAVFAC EURAFSWA) announced its plans to construct eight training facilities for military operations in urban terrain at the Bulboaca training base in Moldova. The fact that the US Navy Department is involved makes it likely that the facility will host American Marines. Up to August 2017, a total of $1.6 million has already been invested in the renovation of the Bulboaca base located near Tiraspol, the capital of Transnistria or the Transnistrian Moldovan Republic.

Georgia also has a notable US military presence. On August 8th, 2018, the Noble Partner drill began, it is an annual two-week exercise, includes 1,170 troops and 140 vehicles deployed by U.S. Army Europe from the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team. Georgia also hosts the Vaziani Military Base.

In all, these postings are not security breaches, similar to the Ukrainian advert. However they should that the fight against the “Russian aggression,” happens from every available and possible venue.
