Actually they tried, but didn't lure him into anything! The Bay of Pigs invasion was supposed to lure him into using air support to support the invasion! He didn't bite, which was smart because it may have resulted in war with the Soviet Union! That, and firing John Foster Dulles as head of the CIA were two mistakes that were fatal to JFK!
