To be accurate: this was a civil suit and it was settled in an eleventh+ hour pre-trial deal. Not surprising, as it had to be settled to protect the many guilty parties. Epstein’s lawyers probably leveraged the need to squash to round up $$$ for the pay off, but some might think that excessive cynicism.
Where Epstein got off pretty close to scott-free was at his criminal [snorts derisively] trial.
