And there's already a voluminous body of emails and texts discussing other illegal and/or ethically wrong things - including U1, Spygate and the CF.
Consider this: Priestap retiring does not mean he was involved in anything related to FISAgate etc. In fact, that he's allowed to retire strongly suggests he was 'not' involved in the illegal activity.
What usually happens to high profile/high knowledge 'witnesses' - in particular when the subject matter involves a Clinton?

Seems likely to me, then, that Priestap is retiring to be put into a witness protection program and sheep-dipped.

When you work for somebody else you often have to do things you would either prefer not to or, would not at all in other circumstances.
Remember, nobody thought Trump would win; they never thought she would lose. Good people 'are' forced into bed with bad every day - and this is clearly what happend with Priestap.
Otherwise, he'd never have been allowed to stick around this long - and certainly not with literally 'no' change to his position and responsibilities.
But keep ignoring the facts in front of you for a narrative and other people's opinions. Thinking for yourself is tough - few can manage it.
