Read this book The One Percent Doctrine by Ron Suskind…it really nails how Cheney went from the Nixon administration and swore never to see the office of the President ever get underminded again. Cheney was clinical as fuck in his rise to power. The guy is a scumbag but we'll never see a more powerful VP than him in our lifetime.
