Start paying attention to magnetometer readings
My basic knowledge of where to look would be based around first looking at a map of all radar stations with ionospheric heating/Doppler capabilities. From there you check where extreme weather is building or has already taken place and look up data spanning days before and after the weather that would be near one of these stations if they were the culprit.
