Why was Flynn lobbying Russia to try to not vote against illegal Isreali settlements?

So he just tried to convince them to vote against a U.N resolution on Isreali settlements, so that they "could have something to talk about?"
That's not very plausible to put it lightly.
What is the strategic reason to talk about that specific subject? It seems clear Flynn knew he would be caught, and all this would come out.
I think the shills just gave it their last "blitzkrieg" earlier today….before their spectacular defeat.
